Your directions are beyond excellent! Thanks so much! BTW, you could also use 2 or 3 mm crystals instead of seed beads. They would look very pretty!

I would fuse the hearts in place, then fuse the white section to one red section, do the stitching to sew down the hearts and do the vine embroidery. Then sew the 2 halves together, cut the slit through the top, because you can then fuse the small red circle on top to cover the slit and finish it up with the edge stitching around the center circle and around the outer scallops. And also echo stitch around the hearts which would quilt all the layers. Then all my ugly stitching and knots on the back would be hidden in the layers!

I was thinking the same thing. That way, you could use this at Christmas. Simply flip it over and put your favorite Christmas decoration (or a floral arrangement) on top.

@@hexabob57 Great idea for a multi-season use! You could even do a Santa applique or a Snowman on the back. I love Dual season uses for one project!

What are the cons to do it as suggested? Fusing first then embroider
@marietteforget7804 Жыл бұрын
🌺🌸 It’s a gorgeous table topper, thanks for the tutorial! When I trace an embroidery, I now use a pen with washable ink. I then use a wet Q-tips to wash the ink away when it’s not completely hidden. I would embroider on the top piece only, like you suggest, to avoid seeing the threads on the back and then sew the front and the back together and close the opening with an invisible stitch.

Could you also do the embroidery on the white layer before you iron it down? Do you think it would show through too much? This is an adorable project! Thanks for sharing it!

Hi Doji - I do think that the thread would show through if you complete the embroidery stitching prior to attaching the backing fabric. We're happy this project inspires you! Thanks so much for watching. -Michelle
@kimhill6351 Жыл бұрын
I think you could do the embroidery and seed beads before you put the back on. Then attach the 2 pieces stitching all around, as shown in the beginning. Then cut the back like she showed before and turn. Then you would add a patch to the back that could be a label (like you would to a quilt) that includes your name and when you made the topper. That would hide the stitches, keep you from having to close the scallop, AND give a maker record. (That’s my plan anyway. 😉)

I really liked the project and was easy to follow the directions. The only issue was I was short about 15 red seed beads. I marked exactly from the pattern. I didn’t realize I was short until halfway sewing them on. I bought a tube of seed beads but they didn’t match exactly so I took off the original ones and added the new ones. I’m disappointed that the kit didn’t include all that was needed. I’m happy with the finished product but that the company should know.

Hi Mary Anne - According to our pattern, you should have received 42 of the red seed beads with this project. If you're every missing anything from your kits, please reach out to our Customer Service Team [(208) 664-4567] and they'll be happy to help you. -Michelle

Is this not a free download for the pattern? Monthly for the year.

Hi Gail - This particular series was based off an existing series - the Simply Sweet Mats, which are Wool. Since the pattern for that series is a paid pattern, we did not feel it was right to make this one free since so many people have already paid for the original. We do have more projects planned, so stay tuned! -Michelle
