Didn't know about the ride, all I do are shovels and ironheads, I always carry extra everything for the shovel, 47 years riding them I know exactly what to carry along, I still like points ignition, just balanced and assembled a 5 piece crankshaft for a FXE today, should be doing break in miles by next weekend, when break in is finished this bike will cruse 85- 90 mph all day. pretty sure I've surpassed a million miles on old harleys.

I'm gonna need a new ride soon. As messed up as I am, I can't go without 2 wheels for long. Broken ribs, sprained hip, bruised collar bone, totalled motorcycle.....these things can only stall an old biker for just so long.

if yo love the kz1000p look for the kawasaki zg1200 voyager xii. they can be pretty hard to find because they didnt sell alot of them but its the upgraded kz1000 liquid cooled inline 4 and look very similar to the 80s and 90s era goldwings. they made they basically unchanged all the way to 2003. a friend of mine rode one for almost 20 years (his was an 95 and was still riding it well into the 2010s)

I was never much for Kawasaki motorcycles but GF just bought a Vulcan S with 1 mile on it. We have been heat cycling it by going on 60 mile trips at a time together. Honestly, I think her bike is faster than my GW GL1500 but I haven't really opened up the Vulcan yet. I think a motorcycle trip to The Wang is in order even if we just go two up on the Wing. Time to bring my goth chick to the wang to meet the family. 😊

Why do you think you need to break in a modern engine like people broke in engines 45 years ago? Your heat cycles are doing nothing. Motors are manufactured to more precise tolerances now you don't need to break them in like you used to what you're doing is accomplishing nothing

God in heaven, the PNW is just gorgeous! I've only been up there once, long before I started riding, and I'll finally be going back up for the Twin Peaks festival this coming February (sadly not a time conducive to riding). I do hope that one of these days I can make it up there an actually ride some of those road. Pennsylvania is pretty damned gorgeous as well, but little compares to the views you're sharing here!

Hey brother. If yall get a wild hair one day while you’re up there. If you want to make a day trip to the Tulalip Casino/ Tulalip bay to see some Killer Wales they just hang out in that bay. Beautiful ride beautiful area. Just got back to Texas from up there while seeing my oldest on the reservation. The little 79 xl125s was a great pack mule for the trip. My favorite way adds a few extra hours to the trip but as you know the views and roads are totally worth it. 26-101 to Astoria. Take the 101 out of Astoria to the 401. Just north of Naselle hop on 4 to Kelso then hop on 5 north until you get there. Or just take 5 all the way. It’s a 210 mile trip 1 way straight up 5 from Portland. My way is the slow and twisted way 😂

Fahren H4 LED headlight from Buddy Bezos is amazing. I've had one in my 86 Voyager and my 2012 voyager. Never have had to replace it ever since putting it in. Also did the running lights / fog lights with the same brand. Talk about lighting up the world in the middle of the night. They are absolutely amazing and definitely budget-friendly
