Weell, there is the Archie comics/universe. While I played sonic on the sega genesis first before reading, personally I like to say the Archie comics are canon. After learning about the IDW few years back, I still say Archie is canon with IDW and games another world/timeline. I have never read IDW nor read all of Archie. I like most of the games and still love Archie comics...conclusion is that they are 2 universes with their own canonicity. Side note: I'm still against whatever subtle/stated facts of Sonic x Amy. I'll deal with it because I knew of Amy always chasing after Sonic in the comics; however, it's because I also grew up on Archie that I'm for Sonic x Sally, hence my just standing for all the times Amy throws herself at Sonic. Again, though, 2 universes so both pairing can exist soo. Occasionally, I like seeing the interesting Amy x Shadow pair. Their child would be interesting. Amy had used Sonic's 100th magic ring to wish herself older. So if that magic still resided in her, combined with Shadow's abilities...super child.
