I legitimately gasped when Commander Tower popped up again. I know I should have seen it coming, but its been so long since he's been a part of the story that I was just shocked to have him appear like that. I also like that his character arc is fully intact from Shadow The Hedgehog. It shows how much history Shadow has with characters within the actual world itself and makes it feel *alive*

Honestly that expression Shadow had, had a PTSD stare look about it. Dudes been traumatized and he really misses his best friend. You can see the trauma on his face imagining a life where she lived

He still is an edgelord, it's just a mistake to say it's a bad thing. Guts is an 'edgelord', after all. And NO ONE will claim he's a bad or ridiculous character. It all depends on WHY they act the way they do. Just going all 'dark and brooding like my soul' makes you look like a joke. 'Dark and brooding because I lost everyone I care about and I'm reluctant to open up again/struggling to honor their legacy' makes you look cool yet tragic. No one actually WANTS to be an Edgelord. It's something that's forced onto you.

Sega has been refusing to acknowledge all the lore and characterization they had built up with shadow for years and presenting him as a flat edgelord character. I'm so happy they are acknowledging his history again and giving him emotions. Maybe more than even original shadow ever showed.

I really hope that the third movie pulls something like this off. Make us just as sad and devastated as Shadow when Maria dies! It can be done and this series proves it - show their bond, and show him having dreams about living life with her on Earth. If the third movie can pull that off then it'll be the best of the trilogy.

Imagine this, we beat the final boss, and we get a cutscene where Shadow is finally able to say a final goodbye to Maria as she's fading away back to her time while "Without You" is playing in the background. If that happens I will cry, and I am not ashamed to admit it.

The only thing I don't like about them is: Sonic - isn't - present. I KNOW this is supposed to be Shadow's story - I GET THAT - so then WHY not make the new game Shadow Adventure? Or Shadow the Hedgehog 2? Why have Sonic's name there at all??
