Shadow Generations Timeline Placement Revealed

5:35 it’s not a copout. Not to be that guy, but there’s a bigger hurdle to porting SA1 & 2 than there is for Generations. Every game from Unleashed until today has run on what’s called the Hedgehog engine. Every game prior ran on either the NiGHTS or SEGA Katana engine (not sure which it is). So, to remake those older games would require remaking everything from scratch. Unlike say, Unleashed, where it would be more of a port to Hedgehog engine 2 and some graphics upgrades. There’s a good chance they are working on it, but it will take quite a long time before we see anything.

SA1 and SA2 are running on an engine thats 20 YEARS OLD. they would have to remake EVERYTHING in the hedgehog engine 2 and thats a BIG task, especially if they wanna make the physics like the original games, it would take 3 years minimum for one game im guessing :/

Not really. I thought after Generations and maybe around the same time as Frontiers. If its the same time as Generations then there isn't a Forces level. Not a big deal but since Shadow isn't in many games after the 'Dreamcast era' I thought they would try to get as many levels as possible.

@@ljproductions4026 I haven't seen Time Eater in any of the promos, only Black Doom. And like I said for content reasons as Shadow doesn't appear in many games after the OG Generations.

@@thanerosthe only reason he’s in white space and going through levels from his past is because its out of time & space, and considering it’s really called “shadow generations” and it’s out of time and space, I feel like that’s enough obviousness to figure out it goes on during the events of sonic gens.

3:23 A correction: Sonic Generations is available on PC, so it's not stuck on 7th gen. Sonic Unleashed, however, is. And fans can always download Sonic P-06 for a proper Sonic 06

Yeah but it was confirmed that Sonic P-06 will not include the hubs or the story mode so it isn't a complete game

If it's happening during the events of Sonic's story, how will Shadow's story end considering Sonic has a boss battle with Shadow? I assume the Time Eater just traps him and he gets involved with Sonic's story like the original. In the demo we see Shadow fight the lizard,so unless it's a later fight in his story how does he get warped back onto the ark to fit in with the time shenanigans

I'd like to see Shadow condemn Black Doom into a frozen space of time and in return that's probably how he gets dragged in himself but for his case Sonic frees him

Honestly, I assumed that everything he's seeing is an illusion created by the Time Eater's purple fog in white space. In order to torment him, so he'll end up fighting Sonic without knowing it. However, Sonic eventually beats him, which breaks the illusion and as a result Shadow gives Sonic his Emerald which he picked up while running around under his delusional state. I imagine that Silver went through the same thing having O6 be put in his head causing his mind to be overloaded with information of the timeline Sonic had erased. Until Sonic beat him up and brought him back to their current timeline. Ya know probably saying "Silver pal all of that stuff is already over with let's just snap out of it and help me save time and space so we can all go celebrate my birthday alright man!?" Which is how he got the emerald Silver picked up. Honestly it makes sense as the 3 hedgehog tri is Sonic, Shadow, and Silver so of course the Time Eater needed to manipulate Shadow and Silver in someway or else they would have opposed it just like Sonic.
