Great timeline, but there are few nitpicks I have. Sonic and Blaze don’t recognise each other in 06 and she definitely wouldn’t have agreed to killing him if Rush had already taken place. Speaking of Rush, according to text in Mario & Sonic 3DS, it and its sequel take place after the Rivals games, as Sonic and Blaze stop Nega for good. As confirmed by dialogue in Forces and the fact Sonic doesn’t remember the Phantom Ruby, Mania is in an alternate timeline created by his interactions with his Classic self in Gens. Since Sonic is all buddy-buddy with Knuckles and the two don’t compete in Riders, I’d place that after Rivals 2. The Encyclospeedia confirmed that Chronicles isn’t canon. Speaking of that book, they weren’t allowed to mention Pocket Adventure due to copyright issues, likely striking it from the timeline.

It is still possible to put Chronicles at the very end of the timeline, in the far future. Forces was a lost opportunity to make a sequel for that game since in the epilogue Eggman had taken over the world.

Sonic and blaze remembers the events of 06 as seen in generations and team sonic racing. Also Mania isn't an alternative universe, it's canon to the main timeline. Nowhere does it state that, also in forces the classic sonic being from a different timeline thing is wrong

Everyone's talking what they think is missing and isn't missing while I think your timeline is probably the most correct one to date, there are some things that I like to point out personally. What NEEDS to be missing: All of Sonic 4 (It has already been stated by the developers of Mania that the game is the TRUE sequel to the past mainline games therefore I have considered these 3 to be part of a whole "theory" that will use your timeline as the beginning of the investigation which I will discuss with other Sonic KZbinrs. That is, if you'll allow me too.) Mania (CONFUSED? Considering the fact that Plus is the same events of the base game but now including Mighty and Ray into the action, showing all of the characters entering the Zones in different ways and each of them occurring in different times of day. This leads me to believe they were reset meaning the original events were scrapped and Classic Sonic should remember nothing about Forces nor should anyone from the Modern Era remember that he was there and the Phantom Ruby's powers interacting with dimensions is what made them see and say that he was from another dimension instead of Sonic's younger self.) What Is Missing: Dynamite Dux (one of the only games that predates the blue blur's 1st appearance;should have been considered due to Bean existing in his universe) Flicky (the other game that existed before Sonic's own;eventually got put into the franchise and became one of its most iconic creatures (that aren't anthropomorphic nor a world or dimension level entity) Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car (due to its events happening on Earth and most of its music consisting of 16-bit Sonic 1's OST, suggesting that it happens right after it) SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter (due to its title and kidnapping animals from space plot, it seems to occur after SegaSonic and before Tails' Skypatrol) Believe it or not there are more non-Sonic games and media that connect to the timeline and lore in general, but those will be saved for the last parts in the discussion about its timeline. Again, hopefully, you will allow me access to this video's main piece so I can get into it. For now, I'm leaving you with these final words: "Gotta go FAST!!!"

Hello again, Simon. I know this is a bit random, but I recently stumbled upon some new info on the timeline. First, a fun fact I found was that Sonic Drift 1 is the first time Amy used any form of Heart Powers. This also leads me to one of my crucial points. Both Sonic Drift games occur after Sonic R. My reasoning for this is according to the first game's story that the reason why everyone raced each other was to prove who had the fastest ride. As for the Sonic Drift 2, it's safe to say it had the same reasoning and I guess the other racers showed up [Knuckles was most likely the only one invited since he's another one of Sonic's friends]. Another thing I'd like to point out is that since Classic Sonic got sent to the Modern time period that must be the reason why he got sent into Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD. I have even more info on stuff like this, but I ask for your permission to allow to use your video as a source so I can set the record straight on the full timeline media-wise. You will of course be credited when it gets discussed in a collab series I'll talk to Sonic KZbinrs about. It'll have a couple parts with each one of them tackling a couple of the games and books as much as possible [as long as it's ok with the original owners of the properties being discussed]. Great timeline do I do have some problems 1. Sega Sonic takes place before Sonic 1 due to the lack of badniks 2. 2GG take place before chaos due to the Japanese Manuel of chaos saying that Eggman has endangered cellphone 3 times. Also chaos is the conclusion to the South Island Saga Were the chaos emeralds find a different place to hide 3. Sonic chaos takes place before Skypatrol and Labrinth because in the Japanese manuals Sonic and tails know each other. 4. Sonic CD takes place after sonic and knuckle. 5. Generation Sonic is most likely post Sonic chaos Sonic. Due to him running in Green Hill Zone but knowing who Tails is. And also the fact that tails is the only classic character that appears.

@@casualgamer3900 Usually people have that impression due to Metal Sonic, he is more advanced and powerful than the previous iterations of Mecha Sonics we had seen In Sonic 2 (8bit), Sonic 2 (16bit) and Sonic 3&K, so it would be fair to assume that Eggman created Metal Sonic (CD) after Mecha Sonic (3&K). But Sonic Adventure 1 already blows that hypothesis out of the water due to the fact that we see Metal Sonic and Mecha Sonic in two separate tubes, meaning that they always were separate robots. Thus making it possible for CD to take place between 1 and 2 as it is officially stated in the canon.

This is my idea of the Sonic timeline which spans over 5-6 years. My reasoning for this is because in Sonic CD Rosy (Amy) was listed as 8 years old but in SA1, she was listed as 12 years old which proves that there was a 4 year gap between the Classic and Modern characters up until Sonic Generations where Sonic has his birthday which means another year has gone by. Also I think Sonic 2 and 3 took place about a year after Sonic 1 because Little Planet (which appeared in CD) appears over Never Lake for 1 month of the year. The games need to be stretched out from each other by at least 2 months for Robotnik to come up with his new schemes and to build his badniks and bases. Since the opening cutscene shows the time of year to clearly be around the end of summer because it's bright but not as bright as it would be in the middle of summer, so I can only guess that CD happens at some time in late August or early September. Sonic 1 would then take place in June because of this which matches up with the games release date of June. It isn't an actual reason but I just felt like I should point it out. By my logic, this means Sonic's age goes along with the timeline like this. Sonic 1 and CD: Sonic is 11 years old These games happen from June to September of 1991 Sonic 2 and 3&K: Sonic is 11.5 years old These games take place from January to March of 1992 Sonic 4 Ep 1: Sonic is 12. This game takes place in June Sonic 4 Ep 2: Sonic is 12 years old. This game takes place in August to September 1992 as Little Planet makes its return. Sonic Adventure 1 and Advance 1 & 2 take place around January - April of 1993. I imagine with how big Sonic Adventure 2 was, it took Robotnik quite a while to get everything set up and do his research on Project Shadow and stuff. So I'd assume that Advance 3 takes place now and is set in June/July of 1993. Sonic Adventure 2 happens from late August to September of 1993. Current Sonic age: 13 years old. Neo Metal Sonic has taken Robotnik prisoner and is planning for his ascension and this would take some time, so I think that Sonic Heroes takes place in March of 1994. Shadow the Hedgehog would most likely take place a few months later and would happen in July of 1994. At this point, Sonic is 14 years old. Sonic Battle then happens probably sometime on October of '94. Sonic '06 then happens in January/February of 1995 and Sonic Riders happens a couple months later in May/June of 1995 and Sonic turns 15 years old. Secret Rings happend in June or July and then Unleashed happens from July until August. Black Knight then happens in September and then Sonic Colours happens in November or December of 1995. Robotnik is recovering from his "trip" into space and finds the Time Eater. Months have gone by and now we reach June of 1996 where Sonic turns 16 years old. Lost World probably happens a month later in July. Robotnik then finds the Phantom Ruby in October most likely and then Sonic Forces: Episode Shadow happens in November. The main game starts in Ealry December and then the game skips forward 6 months leading us to early June of 1997 where the rest of the game happens in 3 or 4 days. Sonic's age now: 16 years old. In Sonic Frontiers he will most likely be 17.

Plus I feel a gimmick revolving around sonics infection could be difficult to get down since his infection is spreading and you'd have to have him constantly on the move. Not to mention limiting how many enemies you could take out at a time because the more contact he has with zombots the faster the infection spreads, that's if they were to have a gimmick like that.

Interesting interpretation. However, I do have one issue with this timeline. Sonic Generations doesn't happen twice in Sonic's POV. As, if he experienced these events when he was younger, wouldn't you think he would've remembered? Same goes for Sonic Forces

no evidence that sonic 1 on game gear is it's own adventure. especially since the manuals for both jap and eng depict the genesis ver as sonic and eggman's first encounter knuckles chaotix isn't canon. iizuka said that the chaotix from heroes aren't the same as the one on the 32x, and were now reimagined for the series when being brought into 3d. sonic generations creates a split in the timeline, making mania in a alt timeline to the main timeline. more evident by the fact that both iizuka and the marketing for sonic 4 say it picks up right after the events of sonic 3 all and all, good vid, despite my few gripes

Heyo! new here. Saw the title so i clicked. Im watching this a few months and after rewatching it ive noted down some corrections to your timeline. It seems like you didnt use the sonic encyclospeedia so things like some of teh classic games and rush kinda tripped you up. 0:43 Sonic 1 8bit and Sonic 1 16bit happen at the same time/ concurently. Ian and teh Encyclospeedia say so. Both together is like the complete version of the story so they should not be seperate entries 1:01 SegaSonic the hedgehog most likely takes place before sonic 1 as we know that sonic and robotnik have been fighting before south island/ the events of sonic 1. Plus with the animations and general characterization for sonic in this game makes him seem less experienced meaning it would make more sense to be before sonic 1. 1:07 according to the official/ japanese canon tails sky patrol happens after sonic met tails so it should not be here. It happens conncurently with sonic labyrinth like you said, but both sonic labyrinth and tails sky patrol happen after sonic 2 16bit. The jp canon is the official canon and has been since sonic adventure. so thats what you should follow. 1:55 tails adventure happens before tails met sonic so it should actually be placed earlier in the timeline before sonic 2 16 bit 2:02 sonic chaos happens after sonic met tails and should happen after sonic 2 2:10 sonic 2 8bit should take place before sonic 2 16bit because there are only 6 chaos emeralds found not seven so its ok where it is. 2:41 ok slightly long explanation but its relevant. In sonic 4 we learn that eggman never took back metal in the classic days and left him there on little planet only to recover him during the events of episode metal. This would make all games that happen in the classic era that feature metal sonic non canon. But! during the events of sonic generations, a timeline split occured leading to the main sonic timeline and the classic sonic timeline which fans have dubbed the neo classic timeline to differentiate from the past of the main timeline. In sonic mania, which takes place in neo classic, we see various versions of metal sonic bodies including the giant one from chaotix. This would mean that those classic games that feature metal sonic like drift 2, tripple trouble, etc that feature metal sonic have happened in the neo classic timeline but not in the main timeline. So tripple trouble is neo classic, as well as sonic drift 2, knuckles chaotix, Sonic R and sonic the fighters, but would only happen after classic sonics story in generations. 4:34 you have sonic pocket adventure to sonic 4 ep 2 in the right order. also chaos isnt a water demon. 5:02 the first two advanced games dont really have any strict placements so the are fine there and you have it right all the way till battle 5:30 sonic rush and sonic rush adventure happen after sonic 06. The rush games and the rivals games happen after sonic 06.And according to the encyclospeedia and the sonic channel bios eggman nega is a decendent of eggman from the future so the whole thing about him being an alternate dimension counterpart of eggmans was a lie. 6:10 the game isnt prevented entirely as in games like sonic generations we see that remnants of the bad future timeline still exists and in TSR sonic comments about silver trying to kill him, which he does not remember. 6:47 sonic riders happens before sonic riders happens before sonic 06 7:13 sonci chronicles is considered noncanon to the sonic timeline due to current SEGA mandates because of the whole mess of the penders lawsuit. but if it were to be placed in the timeline, it would have to be placed at the end of the timeline. Ian flynn also supports this idea. 7:28 unleashed to sonic forces is correct. you just missed out the dlc episode shadow which takes place 1 month before forces. you missed out a few of the lesser known games so its technically not the entire timeline, just the important bits lol The timeline should be split in 2. 1 timeline with modern sonic and 1 timeline with classic sonic and the games that take place in that timeline to prevent confusion like yours. You put both in one when that is not the case. I dont want to be to mean about your timeline being incorrect since you may not have known some of the finer details like about the Japanses manuals and you may not have the encyclospeedia. I just hope that nextime you would try to do more research into the timeline since you are kinda spreading misinformation, though unintentionally.

Interesting choices. . . Though, there are quite a Few discrepancies. A huge one is including Mania within Sonic's history Sonic Generations causes a timeline split between Modern and Classic Sonic, which is supported by the fact of Classic Sonic being: "A Sonic from another dimension" Classic Sonic's history should be the same up until Generations, then splits to Mania, Forces, Mania+. Modern Sonic's story should go on with the previous mentioned. Depending on if you want to include SADX as the main version of Sonic Adventure, DX shows Cream the Rabbit flying around Station Square which [could] move Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 prior to Sonic Adventure.
