Just to clear some things up, I think Kirk Thorton did a good job in the game, and I never meant that silver himself isn't cannon anymore. Also him being reintroduced in a handheld spin off doesn't really boad well for the previous handling of the lore but thanks for the info guys I really appreciate it

The whole chaos island “hadn’t happened yet” is kinda moot when you remember that at least 2/3rds of base gens hadn’t happened to classic sonic. People just don’t see him as the main character so they forget. The problem with chaos island is that either 1) shadow NEVER goes there as far as we know or 2) he DID go there and just never bothered to help Sonic with a WORLD ENDING THREAT

Actually shockingly I loved Kirk in this game. He did great since he was finally givin ACTUAL VOICE DIRECTION Edit: silver is still canon because his canon appearance starts in sonic rivals going forward so it makes sense why he's there in forces.

You should watch the cutscenes for Sonic Rivals 1 and 2. It reveals Silver's connection to Blaze after 06 was erased from the timeline. In Sonic Rivals, it's revealed that not only is Eggman NEGA Blaze's arch enemy, but also Silver's. Plus, NEGA was revealed to be from the future in the game, also comfirmed by Takashi Iizuka.

Always was great, "Sonic got bad is a myth as far as I'm concerned". Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog were solid and very misunderstood, 06 was straight up robed of its flowers cause it's a banger. Same goes for Unleashed, a banger that wasn't appreciated. Colors, Generations and Lost World all fall sort in providing cool new narratives in the Sonic mythos with really bad writing and production value but make up for it by being genuinely great platformers. While Sonic 4: Episode I stunk Sonic 4: Episode II made the greatest redemption turnaround ever and turned out a banger. Mania kinda falls into the same category as the other 3 games I just mentioned, great platformer, not adding much to the timeline as an entry. Forces was a narrative and lore mega fumble but otherwise solid game, casually Forces is fun enough, it's the most "I guess this was OK" game ever made. Sure Superstars under delivered but was still OK, Frontiers and SxS were both bangers. Add to all that the mostly great spin-offs we got post-SA2 (I don't even think Boom RoL was that bad, it was passable). Sonic never fell off, Sonic never got bad, people just stopped understanding it and treating it fairly. What would be a 6/10 or a 7/10 title in any other franchise gets minus 3-4 for having "Sonic" in the title. Sonic got cursed with the spell Now You're Gaming's Punching Bag and couldn't shake it off for a while, that's simply how people decided to treat Sonic post-Heroes.

@SonicTheHedgehogX15 I liked it too, thought it was solid. The multiplayer was terrible but single player it's a fun game. I actually prefer it to S4:EP1 and Mania, at least it actually provides something completely original and fresh and isn't a low-key remake of older stuff. That's why I said it under delivered, it was fun but not peak.

I love how shadow plays more than sonic, so i beat generations once to clear the story. Got the S ranks needed for trophies, ill get to the collectables eventually. I got all of the in-level ones too. Only needed a guide for 2 of them

when you think about it, it's shadow's year and shadow is the main focus of sonicxshadow gen, so of corse everyone would play shadow I'm sure they expected alot of people to play mostly shadow, I never played it, I'm too lazy to say more so I'll leave it at that
