I actually really like that Shadow attacks Sonic. If you watch the episode again, he was eyeing the tech on sonic pretty much the whole time, and yeah, that was his plan from the beggining. He only put it off when sonic expressed regret, which is when he sighs and is generally hesitant, but still ends up helping Sonic anyway. At the ghost prism though, you can see that when Sonic lights up at the thought of a solution, it clearly rubs Shadow the wrong way, because he thinks Sonic isn't taking the situation seriously enough, and then Sonic starts getting all defensive over someone he barely knows. It's pretty clear that if it came down to it, Sonic would absolutely include Nine and the others in the plan despite whatever Shadow says, and that's what fully convinces Shadow that he'll be better off working alone. He knows he can't rely on Sonic to listen to him, and so he finally takes matters into his own hands.

Honestly, Shadow’s attitude towards Sonic made complete sense to me. Everyone and everything Shadow has ever fought for has now been, (for all he knows) destroyed and the one to blame is the guy that he tried his best to warn. I wouldn’t trust him to fix the universe either

I 100% agree with the shadow voice. I HOPE they replace the current VA cuz in the games he just sounds fake-edgy. In sonic prime he sounds like a real person with a real personality. I love it!

Shadow's had a very tough past, and with Sonic being so stubborn, jumping into situations and not thinking of the outcome, Shadow I only trying to tell him to focus and pay attention more! Sonic understood Nine, he just assumed Nine would change his mind later on as tails would. shadow tried to warn him that nine isn’t tails @ 2:55 and he shouldn’t trust other versions just from their green hill counterparts. we see sonic paid the price for that in the finale. Sonic is carefree to a fault which I think suits the show
