People always complain about Agro's controls, but having grown up around horses, I can tell you that Agro is to this day still one of the most realistic feeling horses to ride in games. I don't think it would have worked well for the tone of the game if he had just ridden like, say, the horses in Red Dead Redemption- which don't get me wrong are well animated and fun to ride, but they feel like you're driving a car rather than riding a creature that has it's own mind as well. Horses don't always listen to your commands perfectly, and Agro captures the feeling of riding horses far better than any other game I've seen.

Yeah, that's totally why the game's ONLY form of getting around should be a pain in the ass to control. Especially when you're already trying to deal with the colossi at the same time. It's "realistic" is no excuse. Realism in certain elements of a game are fine as long as they add to the game and don't become a detriment. The horses controls are a huge detriment and honestly it feels like it has nothing to do with them trying to make it realistic because wanderer handles like shit too.

The fruit isn't really that useful anyway. It's the grip meter that always seems to be at a premium.

I like how jacksepticeye puts it it's called forbidden land for a reason no random npc, no music when looking for colossi, and no noticeable wildlife it makes you feel like you're not suppose to be there.

A good advice for Agro is keeping in mind that you are still controlling Wander, it's counter intuitive but let Agro do most of the direction by herself or you are gonna get in the way, she knows how to slightly turn to the side to avoid falling of a dirt bridge or run away from a giant sand worm, don't try to push her while she does that. Seriously, i do that and the travel gets a lot smoother. And a minor thing, the "call Agro" button, if Agro it's not close Wander will whistle and if the colossus it's close enough you can get it's attention without having to pause to aim and shoot arrows.

Pro Agro tip from someone who just started yesterday and just defeated the 5th colossus: You don't have to use the direction button. Once you press triangle you can let the horse control itself and it'll even follow curves for you! Agro will go straight until he has to follow a curve. Hands free horse controls like it should be. That's why it's realistic!

The song you hate is called Revived Power, and I agree it can get repetitive. Honestly my top 3 songs in the game are 3. Demise of the Ritual 2. A Despair Filled Farewell 1. Gatekeeper of the Castle Ruins This is my all time favorite video game, even beating out gems like Bloodborne and The Last of Us. I HIGHLY recommend that people play this if they haven't already. This is THE GAME that made people realize video games can be art.

They're all great tracks but Revived Power is like the unofficial theme song for SotC... and it already has an official theme song. If you want to gush over the music, there's a youtube video of a guy playing a medley of the music on his piano... for twenty minutes. In one take. He just memorized that jazz and played it perfectly. I believe his channel is called "the slow pianist"

ok just gonna drop some more tips here but if you want an easy to get some damage into the colossi jump, hold down r1, then Square. this should cause you to do a plunging attack and does a full charged stab worth of damage. this only works if you can stand on the weak point. Also you climb faster with your sword and bow sheathed

Anyone ever watch the movie Reign Over Me? It got me to cry a bit. I didn't know about the story of Shadow of the Colossus when I watched that movie, but when I learned about it I nearly started crying again. It reveals so much more about Sandler's character in that movie.

Agro mostly follows every path to the next Colossi, no steering required. Don't forget to shoot those white-tailed lizards throughout the world! Honestly, I don't think there would a Breath of The Wild without this game, at least a many of it's mechanics and world and dragons. I love BoTW and love SoTC when it was released so much and replaying it in 4k is absolutely amazing!!! Great vid for ANYONE interested in an amazing atmosphere, world, and of course BOSSES! Don't forget to shoot those white-tailed lizards throughout the world!

1. Love Shadow of the Colossus 2. I feel REALLY bad for the Colossi, Wander is like an ant with a knife. They just wanted to live their lives as giant, beautiful creatures. 3. Empty land gives you that feeling of foreboding and isolation... I mean it is a magical forbidden land. 4. Agro acts like your average horse... Except she's better! 5. I believe Wander is just some dude with a sword. I don't think he's a "specially trained" warrior who's a badass. So him tripping over nothing and being greatly affected by a Colossus flailing and gravity, makes a lot of sense to me. 6. Also I always personally loved the music. I agree to some it can get annoying and repetitive, but I still love it.

Garrus -Vakarian Sometimes less is more. This game doesn't fuck around with extra bs. It just gives you your weapons and a mission and let's you do your thing. It does a few things, boss battles and atmosphere, very very well

It's because that's what it is like to ride a real horse, your horse will always resond after you give a command. They don't react instantly. The faster you lope the tighter the turns, the slower the looser
