Shadow of the Colossus - Infinite torch at Hydrus

Proof of concept video. Can the lighted stick (torch) from Celosia's arena be lit underwater? The answer is yes it can!

Hydrus will swim in circles around the pillar, as if its waiting for its prey Part of the fanbase interprets Hydrus as a peaceful colossus, but actually he's extremely territorial, the first instinct when seeing Wander is to emerge to electrocute him

I'm surprised no one has commented on the fact that I've taken the 'lit' torch underwater! This is a first for me, and a new discovery in the annals of this game's history. I only recently worked out how to light the torch manually at any level in the game. Only works in the US/PAL version so far though.

That's because the torch was lit with quicklime, burns even on water and underwater too. Might be one of the ingredients used for Greek Fire as well

oh god.. I have a little bit of Thalassophobia but I can still beat games like Subnautica (with a bit of help), but this boss is one of my favorites, it just freaks me out so much not knowing what's under the water but having to ride him while he goes under. I think it is much scarier in the OG game because of how dark it is under there, but in the remake you can see much clearer and it seems more peaceful underwater with plants and seaweed.@@NomadColossus I would love a video exploring the bottom of the lakes in the original SOTC, they freak me out so much. I've always wondered if you can remove the water just to see what it kind of looks like under there. You may have done it before, it is probably horrendous lol

Man the nostalgia in this game.. imagine if they someday made a sequel to SOTC, it would be absolutey insane and the biggest hype ever. I love The Last Guardian so much too! Hope Team Ico give us another gem someday and are working on a new game.

Hi nomad, when Wander becames Dormin the soldiers attack him, giving you a little bit of damage. Can you low your HP to make them able to kill you at that moment? I wonder what would happen. Do you ever tried this?

Good question, but if I had to guess, you'd probably just die and respawn in the same section of the game.

You know, this idea was first tested back in 2008 by Pikol if my memory serves me... you can make Wander/Dormin's health zero but nothing happens. There is no 'kill code' for Dormin as it was never scripted to die, so there's no way Dormin can die in the cut scene.

Hydrus was the cololssus i feared the most and it took me the longest to find him😭 out of all the others i dreaded reaching his areana and entering the water i have a fear of things lurking in water that sense of vulnerability
