Definitely a huge find, this makes perfect sense. However, I wouldn't necessarily discard previous theories. It is possible that some Colossi and arenas were moved around in order to test them. I believe that some not accessible/climbable mountains/cliffs could've been an arena at some point. Similar to how they turned that mountain into Barba's location

As best as we know arenas weren't moved around terribly often; at least not without certain extenuating circumstances. Roc seems to be a case of having always existed at D6 but was simply replaced with Barba, without having ever been shifted around. Once a Colossus and its arena were created there was little point in moving the entire thing elsewhere, as the shape of the map was created around the predetermined Colossi arena locations.

@@Intrepid_Explorer Are we sure that Roc wasn't moved to the previously speculated arena at some point though? The 2 arenas are very similar and if the one at B3 wasn't for Roc, what was it then? Not saying you're wrong, I'm just interested in what this means for the stuff we speculated about before now. Is it possible that they decided to move Roc and add Barba to D6 before outright cutting Roc from the game? As far as we can tell, B3 was an arena and it doesn't look like the arenas for other cut colossi.

I prefer the ps2 version. The sounds and fur colors of each Colossi gave them their originality. If they had left that the same for the ps4 version, I say it would have been better than it already was.

In hindsight it does make sense that Barba and Argus would be late additions to the game to replace scrapped ones. There's really no other reason to have 3 minotaurs in the game when all the other colossi are unique.

In the Ign trailer, if you go to the minute 1:03, you can see that there is a light in the desert. It could mean that it was supposed to locate the colossus or maybe Phalanx was already dead.

Amazing job, though there is something that we tend to forget and that you don't mention in the video. Since the unused Colossi never made through the beta, it's likely that the developers weren't sure where to place their arenas and thus, assigned different spots in the map that could serve as their arena. This would explain why there is evidence for Roc being in B3 but also for him being in D6, the devs considered both quadrants as possible spots to place Roc and his arena but ended up using neither because this Colossus never made it into the game.

There isn't any evidence any of the unused colossi lived in multiple quadrants and there isn't any evidence for B3 being Roc anymore, since we figured out the arena at B3 belonged to Yamori_A

Phoenix has total texture matches with the J4 quadrant and more stuff on top of that, the evidence for Phoenix being where Basaran is totally applicable to I4. There's been an extremely large amount of new discoveries that disprove the old locations, we'll make videos about the rest of the unused colossi soon.

@@Bunny-zg4hd The 3 main evidences that pointed to Phoenix being in D3 were: 1: the trees in the art book, which were identical to the ones in Basaran's arena. 2: the fact that, in the beta map, there is a Colossi simbol over B3 that is identical to the one over Avion's arena (which would make sense if Phoenix was supposed to be there since it would mean this was used to show that both arenas were inhabited by bird-like colossi). 3: back in 2016, Nomad found a texture literally named "turtle shell" that was assigned to I3, indicating that the quadrant was supposed to have Basaran's, and not Phoenix's, arena (meaning that the I3 "cave" was most likely a plain similar to the one where you fight Basaran in the final version). Have these 3 evidences been disproven by recent discoveries somehow? If so, then how?

@@rickalbuquerque595 The trees at Basaran's arena and Phoenix's arena are labelled I4_trees, which correlates with the evidence for Phoenix at I4. It's far more likely the trees were taken from Phoenix's arena and reused at Basaran's. Not to mention, basically no textures in Basaran's arena matches the Crater texseg. On your second point, I have never heard of a colossus symbol hovering over B3. I am pretty sure you're misremembering that. Thirdly, it's possible that Basaran used to live at I3, sure, but nothing beyond a test area. The I2 map leftover in the game is extremely, extremely crude. It reuses textures from Ico, doesn't have overlapping UVs that would signify texture blending and the Dam is made of one texture. This all clearly shows the quadrant was abandoned very early on, yet it connects properly with I3 on the beta map, meaning I3 was likely also abandoned long ago meaning I1-I3 could've been more test stages as opposed to quadrants they planned on keeping
