Confused by the 'dont mind blast on 8 targets just mind sear instead' because you need to mindblast to get insanity to sear or to get the free mindsear procs

Hey! Sorry for the super late reply, I've been back in work after having a lot of time off for the birth of my child - so pretty much at that amount of targets you'll be generating a lot of insanity from ghosts and mind searing, you'll be prioritising your MB and SW:D whilst mindbender is up, for the cleave it deals with Inescapable Torment. However when it dips you'll be generating enough insanity to just Mind Sear naturally, then your MB is a filler to fish for procs whilst you wait for the passive gen from ghosts. Ive been wondering for a while how to handle the proccs on devouring plague, do i want to quickly just throw the "extra" DP instantly, or do i want to fill a MB before throwing it? Been in many situations where i just threw a DP when got a instant one directly after, so how do we think there?

You ideally throw it instantly, your DP does pandemic and it adds the new damage onto the old application, you won't be losing out on any damage, the only way you do lose damage is if you cap on insanity or Mind Blast stacks. Hope this helped!

Why does mindblast have a higher priority over mind flay:insanity in ST? Doesn't mind flay do more dmg and generates the same amount of insanity?(For context im running the cthun yogg build)

its not really that complicated. it’s a priority system as opposed to a set rotation but other than that it’s just keep dots up, use cds, fill resource, dump resource. If you take a talent makes X spell do Y thing, make sure that you do indeed use X spell to do Y thing. I don’t understand why people think spriest is so complicated. Works the same as literally any other class. Use your good shit when it’s up, use your filler when it’s not. Free pro tip: when the buttons light up, hit them.

@@peen2804 Agree with op. Throughout the years I've played pretty much every class and spec, and even SP was fine. Yes, SP is still playable and yes 99% of it is plain and simple, but if you if you want to min-max as a SP priest you'll have to store entire spreadsheets in your mind. If you want to play SP optimally, you literally have a different priority system based on every different amount of group of mobs. 2-3 mobs? Do X. 4 mobs? Do Y. 5-6 mobs? Do Z. 7-8 mobs? Do R. 9-10 mobs? Do P. "When the buttons light up, hit them" does NOT apply to SP anymore. If you follow the priority system correctly (as in min-maxing), you need to press X and Y (depending on the amount of mobs) and after that you hit the "lightened up button". SP is fun AND easy as a casual player, but if you want to min-max as SP now, it's annoying as hell.

@@peen2804 they compare it to classic which is alot different but I for one like the insanity bar and how it works we get a lot more burst which we desperately needed especially in pvp lol but ya it’s taken me time to get used to but it’s getting better and I love the fact I change my spec/talents on the fly that is so dope really changes the dynamic of how you can play and what u can do this way not every spriest is built the same

I try to get some info, for me i play m+, 1. whats Spriest utilities(cc's) and 2. how good can he dmg while forced moving/mechanics etc, Long Cast Times? 3. survivability? 4. How is his dmg Profile flat or heavy burst Windows and can it blast aoe+st with Same talent-tree?

my only problem with this kind of guide is the amount of slang used. idk what dots are. if im going to use a guide and i have to go to google to look up what terms mean i think the guide should say something about how its for people who have been playing the game a long time. just makes me feel dumb af when i cant understand what the guide is talking about.

Hey! I did some dungeons with deathspeaker and it felt really nice when it came to execute phases, but since you play Inescapable Torment too, you feel bad for not using SW:D on the opener, but then if you do then you don't have it for the execute. So sure it can work but it might not feel as good as some of the other builds.

Because Dark Ascension is probably better in lower keystone due to the fact you're pulling smaller packs and your DA will line up better with short bursts of damage, whereas in higher keystones you'll be pulling bigger and for longer where Void Bolt get's full use of extending your dots.

People use Dark Ascension in raids because you play a Mind Spike build, and as Dark Ascension buffs your non-dot abilities, it makes sense to pick this for 2 minute burst windows > VE and Void Bolt as the rotation becomes very cluttered. Hope this clears it up!
