Shadow Priest Tier 10 BIS Gear Guide for ICC - WOTLK P4

Twisted Faith also increases Mind Flay and Mind Blast damage by 10%, not just spirit ---> sp, excited to see if the deep disc will actually beat it out. Seems odd

Def interested in 10 man BIS setup. Might be even more interested in an 'easy to obtain' setup that might not be BIS but is strong. Gear would be from 10 man H, 25 man normal but also be skewed towards heroic bosses from earlier wings of the raid. This list would be designed for people who raid on social/casual 25 teams who will take quite a long time to prog through the raid, but can get the earlier gear on farm pretty quick.

My only problem with this is that there are 3-4 fights where Disperssion is really useful: 1) Festergut, you can avoid the Pungent Blight explosion twice, this means you can ignore stacking for spores which technically makes you sit in 1 spot and dps. 2) Rotface, you can do the same thing here, ignore slime pools, spitting, oozes, so just sit and blast. Dispers here is not very important, it just ensures you wont die if you get Vile Gas. 3) Sindragosa, you can overstack and ignore Unchained Magic debuff and when the time comes you can Dispers, this should be dps increase by far. 4) On LK you will most likely be assigned to soak the Spirits in phase 3 (Need Disperss + Glyph too). There are more fights where Dispers can see usage, but its mostly for survival, and slight dps increase: 1) BQL you can place the flames in one specific spot near the walls, rather than running with them to Narnia. It's a slight dps increase. 2) DBS, if you get the mark, you will be easily dead due to Cloth armor so Dispers can give healers some breathing room to top you off. 3) Professor, you can help soak or in case you get the Green ooze on you, you will simply Disperss without the need of help from others. This is mainly to provide dps for the raid not you, but it could also save you from bad positioning. 4) Council, you can also have usage of Disperssion here, when either the Vortex positioning is bad, or you on purpose stack with melees, or if a Kinetic drops, or if you are targeted by Flame Orb. As you can see Disperss while speccing off of it, provides 250 dps gain, I do not know if it's worth the risk. If you die, you deal less dps :D You can definitely dual spec and have Disperss in the fights you want it, I just want to have my 2nd spec for healing (Valithria, Sindy heroic, RS later on) so I am not sure if i want to completely delete my off-spec just for 250dps increase. Cool video though!

I'm going dual spec shadow, the hybrid spec and shown here and the "normal" shadow spec (the one where we drop imp MB). I'm will be a while before the hybrid spec overtakes normal spec in terms of dmg since we need to drop some of spirit before it's worth it. I'll be bringing Glyphs of Mind Sear, SWP and dispersion so I can swap on a boss by boss basis. I'll be using the hybrid spec on farm bosses after a while to see how it feels. It looks very clunky though but I'm guessing it's something you need to experience before you can have an opinion on it.

@@marijnstapert9036 Yes I agree, it will take quite some time to get 4pT10. Btw, I dont think you will need Mind Sear on any boss fight (kind of useless), nor SWP since mana will not be an issue. But ofc, if you do not talent Dispers then you wont need Dispers glyph either. The only bosses with adds are DBS and LDW (2nd and 4th) but on DBS adds take 99% less damage from AoE spells and on LDW half the adds take 90% less magic damage. Marrowgar also has "adds" (the spikes) but they are already stacked so no reason for glyph. Finally, while LK has lots of adds, they will also be stacked, but I think single target LK is more important. You can Sear on Valkyrs but no glyph needed there, besides you will most likely soak Spirits so you need Disperss glyph.

Hey man, question about the gemming you have there, on belt, pants, boots and gloves you have a sp/spirit gem, wouldn't a pure sp be better since we don't gain sp from spirit with that talent build and only need 2 blue for meta?

ok question for you guys. Should the 10m list include items from togc/ulduar 25m if they are stronger (flare and 272 cloaks being the main ones) or should this be items from 10man exclusively?

10m heroic only as like for me i can find pugs to do 25m heroic togc but always end up with anub normals. and any pugs that still do 25m uld are either gdkp or guilds needing few and HR frags and big items like flare

Excellent video, one question that I do have though are there any 10man HC items other than Muradins Spyglass which are comparable to 25 man HC loot? I know ToGC had some sets with the 10 man HC wand for example.

nope pure bis only comes from 25man heroic. 10man loot just isn't good enough and even muradin's is only about as strong as flare/reign

There's lots of stuff in 10m heroic that will be an upgrade over TOGC loot early on. Plenty of good caster loot with haste/crit/sp including neck, ring, belt, dagger.

I’m going to make another video on this. TLDR is swd is basically dead and mb will take its spot as the spell you cast when a dot has less than a global to fall off so you’d rather mb than mf2 before you reapply. You'll still cast MB just very infrequently

SWD is basically dead already so you should sim your current gear with and without it. Nothing else you need to change in the sim

Is mana going to be a concern with the new talent build? I feel like I chew through mine at times, and dispersion during downtime or mechanic is a nice boof. Not to mention no dispersion and no replenishment kind of makes shadow a zero utility dps like mage but probably less damage.

If you’re playing an Spriest I can say that you will for sure replace reign with norm or heroic Phylatctery & DFO - but you should get comfortable using wowsims it will become your best friend once you get comfortable with it and if you need an exporter to quickly input your currently equipped gear you can use wse to import the code to the sim

i noticed that if you take the bis setup and swap out plaguebringer stained pants for tier pants and then swap your tier helmet for the corprethat ceremonial crown, it actually sims about 100 dps higher. even though its a crit/spirit piece. can you explain why that happens and is that helmet the actual bis offpiece?

that sims 250 dps worse for me and I know lots of other people who have simmed and never seen that set be bis, so you probably should have someone check your sim settings

I noticed in your alternate talent setup you still had Dispersion glyph, but given we don't take that do we just default to SWP and swap to Mind Sear as the fight allows?

mana shouldnt really be an issue in this spec so it may even make sense to default to mind sear. not sure how much mind sear gets used in ICC but could always dust off the ole glyph of swd and get 10% extra damage on it whenever you're moving. realistically the third glyph won't really matter but once we get PTR i'll make a guide talking about which is best to use

Dispersion is just way to useful on most bosses but maybe you can make a talentbuild with dispersion but without Imp MB even If you put the points into Imp vamp embrace its probably nice because there are a Lot of bosses with constant aoe dmg

Is it really worth to not take twisted Faith? Beside of the Additional Spellpower from Spirit you would also lose 10% MF damage which might, especially with the 4set bonus, be a huge dmg loss.

-10% MF dmg vs + 4% haste which basically speeds up all your dmg except SW:P so like 90% of your dmg gets a boost from this and for dots it´s huge + 4% flat dmg increase (also for all your abilities) from the other disci talent... I think it is worth it. And the sp from spirit in bis is not significant. I mean... if sim says it´s worth, then it probably is worth. You will have to sim your way into the new build tho and find the exact spot where it becomes worth for you.

After ~12 hrs of PTR testing. RIP the new talent build. 99% of Spriests should keep Dispersion 4 rest of game. Early on add 2 points into Improved VE. ICC wont be parse chasing meta for "good" players/guilds for a while this time. Many guilds will fail because DPS can't actually be bothered to do mechanics very well. Do mechanics...beat the bosses faster...pass out the sick loot...parse later. Trust me.

Pretty sure 10man heroic end bosses only drop 1 264 token , and 25man heroic end bosses only drop 1 heroic token not 2.
