the ego structure one is really interesting. I can feel it working within myself whenever I have an intrusive thought or dream. I am more aware of the mind being active now an so try to remain as present and less triggered. The analogy about the king is really interesting. In the film 300, Xerxes believes himself to be a 'god-king' and basically immortal as a result of the huge empire he had built and the countless victories he had achieved- but at the end of the film Leonidas (leader of the 300 spartans) threw a spear that clipped Xerxes' ear. This shattered his illusion of immortality which preceeded the entire collapse of that persian army against a much smaller Spartan force. Another great video thanks

That’s a great illustration of how the drive towards ego preservation and the drive towards worldview preservation work hand in had to keep us unaware of certain truths about reality. And they can also be used to compensate for things like trauma and unmet needs. So when our illusions about ourselves and reality are shattered (like in the case of Xerxes), it can suddenly lay bare to us the parts of ourselves that we’re not yet ready to face… our wounded Shadow Aspects

For me, I always try to look as cute as possible. As a child, I was encouraged to be strong and any expression of femininity and weakness was disapproved of. Now I desperately want to find someone who will love me for being vulnerable. I really enjoy being complimented on being nice or cute.

With that «loner thing» sometimes it is really hard to deal with. Because loneliness predominantly gives lots of freedom. I even tried to speak with people once again, though sometimes it looked for me like I did «too much>. At the same time I don't know why. Weird. Probably, two opposites. And still that freedom is quite... pleasant.

I have so much repression it’s absurd. So many aspects of normal human life are off limits to me currently and it feels more and more what I’ve put behind walls is forever off limits to me. :( I have a lot of scary self reflection and shadow work to do if I’m ever to live a decent life

Hi Emerald, I’ve recently been reading ‘letting go’ by David R Hawkins. I’m not sure if you’re aware of this book, but essentially after reading it multiple times I believe it to be akin to stop repressing feelings (by allowing them to come up and inviting them into consciousness and feeling them in the body, rather than fearing or judging them) and integrating them into conscious awareness. If you haven’t read this book already I’d definitely recommend it, if you have id be curious to get your take on this and any experiences you’ve had with the letting go technique.

So what if you're repressing a bad habit of yours... You know it's not good to invite it to the surface of consciousness.. so what to do??
