i’m 13 and i’m getting into spirituality and what things truly mean to me and i’ve come across all these new and different things and i’m so excited to learn:)! this video really helps thank you! update: i’m 14 now and about a month ago i started really getting into expanding my mind and exploring my spirituality and what feels best for me, it’s been difficult but it’s getting easier to do things and my suicidal thoughts are lessening and i haven’t had them in a while, i’m so so grateful to be on this journey, it’s only getting better every day and i’m super excited :D! i’ve been starting shadow work and doing yoga and meditation and it’s helped me grow so much in such little time:D update: i was diagnosed with anxiety and depression recently and i realized i was actually indulging in so many unhealthy behaviors and actions to help soothe it, everything has been difficult...well it only feels that way because of my mental disorders/illnesses but i’ve been trying to journal and do shadow work everyday but i’m seeing a therapist now!:) i’m really exhausted and it feels like a battle every day but i have hope that it’ll get better if i try my best:’).

I wanted to start Shadow Work for a while now but always put it off. I drew the cards while you were stating the prompts and it was amazing. The cards realy told a story, even within the details od the background (birds way back in the background in the integration card and birds around the person in the last card, the clothes of the people, etc) and it was about an issue that's haunting me for the last months and especially this week. It was so interesting and motivting to work on this problem and on more Shadow Work. Thank you so much.

I’ve been strongly considering starting shadow work, but haven’t felt like diving into the deep stuff immediately was for me. a lot of research i’ve done has only talked about healing trauma/acknowledging trauma or asking really tough intense questions about yourself. I really like how your video talks on all steps in the shadow work process, that the goal is not to “fix” the issue as in make it go away, but rather heal it and incorporate those neglected aspects into your life now. i like the idea that the goal is to give yourself the love/acceptance/etc that you did not receive in those times of shadow creation, and the way you explained it was awesome! i also love the examples you used and how you explained integration. your prompts are super beginner friendly and i like how they are generic enough to apply to any “issue” that may arise. it has been a little overwhelming seeing all these long lists of intense questions and people just jumping right in, and personally i don’t think i’m ready to do that yet! I think i will start with some basic goal setting, what realignment looks like for me and then start with these prompts as there have been many traumas this past year that have caused me great distress that i can already connect to past trauma/experience (i.e the question talking about how this shadow shows up in other parts of life). very long winded comment, but i want to thank you for your clear explanation of this type of work and let you know that it has helped me out a ton! and by the way you are absolutely gorgeous! :) stay witchy! 💕

I feel you. I was bit by a black widow last weekend, and I’m still not fully recovered, so I did not get to do all the Samhainy things I wanted to do. Thanks for the prompts! Always enjoy those. Between the spider bite and these shadow work prompts, I feel some mommy issues coming on! Bring it! lol I hope you feel a lot better soon.

I’m really new and I’m confused on how using like the jealous shadow part of myself and how I can use that in life? I’m not sure what to do

Try to get to the bottom of what wound underlies your jealousy - a fear of being left by someone you love, a fear of being worse than others, a fear of someone being more valuable than you etc. - Once you know this about yourself, you'll be able to heal this wound better. :) It's a process, so be patient with yourself. Just like my f mother and most of her catholic family that belittled me from every angle since I was a child, they raised a powerful witch fueled on pain, resentment and thirst for justice. sorry I dont know much about shadow work no matter how much I look into it im confused so sorry if I sound dumb but is it possible that like my shadow is like lack of like love and effection.... because I get so confused by people when they show sm love to me or other people and when someone does it to me or ask me to show love to them I get so like awkward and dont know how to show love to people so is that what I need to work on?

If you intuitively feel like that is what you have to work on, you should do that. :) Think about what love means to you, how it was shown to you in the past by your parents or family in general. And look into love languages! See which ones are yours, learn how you express love most naturally. :)

I guess I don't believe in shadow work. I don't think we have a light and shadow... I think it's all just "us". Separating parts of ourselves out into "shadow" just feels.... wrong. It's really weird to me that this jungian thing has become part of magical practice for a lot of people. Psychology has largely moved on from Jung and I can't work out why he's such a big part of the witchy community.

I understand your sentiment - but that is exactly what shadow work is about. It's a fact that we suppress some parts of ourselves to fit into society and other people's expectations. And shadow work helps us integrate these suppressed aspects and make them step into the light of ourselves so to speak. The way it is practiced today is fairly removed from Jung and his original methods.
