One of my favorite things about this series is the story-telling format. Everyone has a story. Everyone has a back-story that brought them to this point in their journey and this series explores that in a very unique narrative style. Also, the island is a character in itself. Enigmatic, savage, and unique. The tension of the unknown is thick!

Sawyer's actor Josh Holloway (the one they briefly showed lighting up a cigarette) was in the Community S2 Paintball episodes as The Black Rider. He was the one Jeff kept saying he was better looking than, and Abed pointed out that he was "Network TV Good Looking," (in reference to LOST) lol.

Subscribed for Lost. I know you have some reservations about the ending. I’m an original hater but have made my peace. Even when I “didn’t like it,” I still felt it was absolutely beautiful…not kidding. It is 100% worth the ride.

Welcome to The Island. This show is phenomenal. I don't want to sound mean but people who don't like the show is because they just were not paying attention to all the details and completely misunderstood it. I actually judge people's IQ by how much they understood the show, especially the ending lol. I just found your channel and subscribed for LOST. If you pay attention to details and keep a good memory then this show will reward you. LOST does not spoon feed you the answers but they are there for you to find. Enjoy the ride :)

It never went off the rails! In fact IMO it got better and better and you can clearly see there is so much passion in the writing and it delivered till the end. Don’t give up this is not just a show it’s an experience!

One interesting thing about this show is many of the characters were created because of how good the actors were in their auditions. The Korean characters for example. The female(did they mention her name in this episode?) audition for Kate they liked her so much they created her character. The same for Hurley and Sayid they both auditioned for the character seen with the cigarette. Impressing the creators and given a role. Jack was originally going to be killed instead of the pilot, and the pilot was going to be played by Michael Keaton of if I remember correctly, but he didn’t want to stay for a full show, and the creators thought the audience wouldn’t like the character they first meet to die in the first episode.

I have some complicated feelings about this show, but I cannot deny that it has some absolutely great characters and moments. This is still one of my favorite intros to a show, Fallout's the only intro that's topped it for me I think. That rising and falling jet engine shriek in the background, literally everyone scrambling like ants everywhere, its pretty perfect.

A Singapore airlines Boeing flight from London was recently diverted to Bangkok after severe turbulence hit the plane. A 73-year old guy died and dozens were injured. Same time an elderly guy died in a car crash on the road here, the reason often being the same: neglecting the use of a safety belt while a vehicle is in motion - it is there for a reason, even on buses. Often in a plane accident people 'only' break their legs as they hit the seat at full force.

Taking notes is a great start. You're going to want to keep doing that throughout, and not just for names. "Lost" is a very complex show. It gives you the answers to your questions slowly, but it won't always hand you the answers on a silver platter. Quite a few answers you'll have to figure out from context. I am guessing that this is a reason why some people have a negative view of the series and finale. They expected all the answers to be handed to them. "Lost" is not for people that cannot pay attention and work out the answers for themselves. You're in for quite a ride. Welcome to the island!

So happy to see you jumping into this iconic tv show, Shai! I watched the entire run as it was broadcasted, so it's great to relive that experience through a fresh set of eyes now. Because you brought it up, I'll admit to being one of those viewers who has a mixed opinion of some of the elements of Lost as it goes into later seasons. (And as to the ending, I'll hold my tongue.) But what's most important to know is that Lost is a thrilling, worthwhile, and crazy wild ride of a show.

The first 3 seasons are stellar. I feel like seasons 4 and 5 have really out there elements and I was happy with the ending. I strongly feel like this show was a victim of ratings... they didn't have a planned end and because it did well, they kept going until it just got weird. Shows are best when they know where they are going.

I'm a huge fan of Lost. I enjoyed it all the way through though midway it did kinda stumble. The final seasons are a direct lead up to a promised end and it shows and I think a lot of people didn't realize what the show was ultimately trying to be which is why I think they didn't enjoy the ending. For me it all works as a whole but to each their own.

Lost does not go off the rails. Please know that 99% of the people with harsh criticisms of the ending or say "it went off the rails" did not actually watch all episodes of the show and they may have missed entire seasons, but nonetheless they are certainly not shy about giving their opinion! Long story short, Lost unfortunately has a completely undeserved "bad" reputation. Lost is a TV show built for binge watching but it aired in a time before binge watching existed. So viewers today have a great opportunity to watch a great show, please disregard any opinions as much as you can (be they positive or negative) and avoid spoilers. Welcome to the island, I believe your experience will be amazing and well, well worth it.

My favorite show ever, not the best one, but one of the shows change all show coming after. It's way deeper than we think at first. Some good and bad (no spoil), but in general amazing. My first watch (2004-2010) I didn't like the end, but at rerun few years later, I felt in love with. It's kind of show you have to get ready, in the mood. It's amazing. More important thing : look ALL details, there are a lot.

My favorite show. Watched like 10 channels go through it, and I'll watch yours too. Just a good about a lot of concepts I enjoy. It's a hard thing to talk about without spoiling the show though. From a meta spoiler-free view, it just doesn't stick to the same formula each season. Just because you like season 1 doesn't mean you'll like season 5, but the reverse is also true. It's not just about "Bad ending".

LOST is the poster child of a show going off the rails. When they were given the season and a half or more to wrap the show up, you would figure some things would be answered and a satisfying resolution would appear. LOST did NONE of that. They continued like they had 10 more seasons to go, heaping more mysteries, new characters, new ideas and then took the easiest resolution that meant absolutely diddly squat. And it is a crying shame. LOST was one of the greatest shows to grace the screen, as long as you believed that the things they were throwing actually meant something. In the end season, while you were wondering how they would be able to ever answer all the mysteries they had floating, they began to introduce more characters, more mysteries and you realized they weren't going to answer anything because there were no answers. it hurt. It was like they had a gold mine but no idea what to do with it.

@@jordanparker5949 That reasoning is the same as people use with Nostradamus. The eagle fell, the star shown bright, the number 21 is important, and winter is coming. Then a bunch of bloggers try to take those words and work it so it makes sense and then, wah-lah, there is a great cannon meaning behind it all. You put a lot more faith in the writers of the show than I do. They had little to no clue on things, but knew that whatever they put out, people would make it work. And I love LOST. The journey is bar none some great stuff.

I was one of the people who watched this show as it aired, and I was very disappointed with the ending. As time passed, I realized that I was wrong - it’s brilliant. You asked about the level of mystery. It is incredibly high - throughout the first 4 seasons it consistently hands you more questions than it answers. While I was watching the final season, I was so frustrated that the show wasn’t answering more questions from its huge backlog. I eventually realized that the show DOES answer most of the mysteries, it simply doesn’t spoonfeed you those answers. Two things that heightened the pleasure of this show: (1) the week-long wait between new episodes and months-long wait between seasons. This gave you a lot of opportunities to debate what the show was doing with schoolmates, coworkers, and the internet. (2) the extra content that aired exclusively on the internet, sometimes as part of “alternate reality games”. This is one of the few pieces of media (like The Sixth Sense or The Sting) where getting spoiled should count as a crime. Continue taking notes and avoiding spoilers, you’ll be so happy you did.

I’d argue that the show only has two weak points: (1) The first 4 or so episodes of season 2 kind of sputter along as the writers try to handle some events happening simultaneously without killing the mysterious feeling (2) The episode in season 3 with the tattoo, where every single character seems to be having a (truly unexplainable) angry mania attack. Perhaps the food on set sucked that week? On the other hand, I still think the season 2 finale is the wildest sh** I’ve ever seen broadcast on television. Once you get past the aforementioned rough points, it’s smooth sailing

Some people were disappointed because A. It's a bad ending, and B. They correctly guessed the ending in Season 1, the showrunners said it wasn't that, and was exactly that. It's an amazing show. But let's not rewrite reality here.

Regardless of whether or not it went "off the rails" or the ending was not what some might have anticipated, I loved the series. J.J. Abrams did a great job overall, and the "Easter eggs" are abundant in this show.

As a big fan of Lost who understands the criticism, I can confidently say is everyone is right, and your general impression is correct. LOST is one of those shows that was perhaps too ambitious for its own good, and yet it still remains one of the most influential television shows of all time. I still regard the Season 2 and Season 5 finales as two of the best episodes of television ever aired. If you liked Arcane, you'll notice a lot of similarities in storytelling structure,
