I started on replicating the IKEA picture frame idea yesterday. Your comment about toolboxes evolving is interesting because when I started categorising the tools per panel I quickly realised how many tools I'm 'missing'. I definitely don't want to be buying more foam and redoing a whole layout every time I add a tool so need to think about how to handle that, other than just buying every tool at the local hardware store!

Always good for thought isn’t it? What are you going to do?
@rsporsche10 ай бұрын
@@ShadowFoam Well, the only thing I thought of so far is to head down to the hardware store and start tracing the outlines of the tools on to paper so I can reserve some space for them.

Timely video. My ShadowFoam arrived a few days ago and I’ve got a x5 SEALEY drawers to cut. I’m also working on a project on my Humidor so will hopefully have some foam left to house my accessories e.g lighter / cigar cutter / cigar case so will send some photos when completed.

I have the roller suit case from Teng Tools and a couple of their carry cases for a mechanical tool setup when I travelled a lot for work. Never got round to fully setting up the electrical side as the job went pair shaped. I have found that the plastic inserts in the trays crack after a while. Have replaced a couple with Shadow Foam but some of the Teng Tool Trays have 2 layers of tools in the same foam which is awkward to cut out in the old style Shadow Foam.
@ShadowFoam11 ай бұрын
What do you think of the Teng tools? I’m on the fence on getting some
@three-phase56211 ай бұрын
@@ShadowFoam They are okay, they have some quite nice tool kits and options which is what attracted me to them, but I think they are a little pricey and not the same quality as Wiha or Knipex. I think they are aimed more at the automotive industry so you don't tend to see them being used out in manufacturing plants.

I have a set of the Pittsburgh 12" Aluminum snips that I got in a pile of scrap. They looked like they had never been used so I set them aside they are now my favorite pair of large cutters I have. I like them better than any of my Stanley, milwaukee or Wss Cutters the blades come off with a Philips for super easy sharpening and they end up working better than new in about 3 minutes with a few pieces of sand paper on a flat surface They are less than $10 I recommend that Anyone try them

My tool kit is mainly Klein, then Bahco, Wera, Wiha and Knipex. But, my most used tool is a DIY store home brand large flat head driver, something I found, I would never buy but I use it to poke, prod, force etc and it keeps my insulated Klein immaculate 👍

Hi Johnathan. Our small Workshop got badly damaged with over 200 litres of heating oil leaking from the boiler. We have a very small KZbin channel ( The Relaxing Woodshop) and the insurance company want to rip up the concrete floor (everything has to go). This gives me a chance to start fresh, and I want to do a whole new design with dark academia colours and a shadow foam wall. It is 350 cm long and 100 deep. What foam colour and depth would you recommend from yourselves ( on a budget)
@ShadowFoam9 ай бұрын
So sorry to hear about your workshop! I’d recommend colour based on what will contrast best with the colours of your tools and depth, based on how deep your tools are! Could you drop my team an email at m.wood@shadowfoam.com and we’ll help you with this?
