I just can't with Magnus' facial expressions (more specifically, his eyes) in the flashback. So damn expressive and open and honest; it feels like looking right into his soul, no walls or barriers. Harry is doing a truly incredible job.

Absolutely! I also really like Matt's body language in this scene. It's always struck me that when Alec confesses that he trusts Magnus, he rolls his shoulders in a way that seems more like a stretch, like a weight is lifted, than a shudder or an uncomfortable movement. And then cause Harry's awesome you see Magnus catch that and kind of lose himself for a moment in how puzzling and interesting he finds Alec to be. And BAM you got yourself natural-feeling and genuine chemistry between two characters.

Deena Dau Yes, this scene takes place after 1x06 when Alec decides to stay for "just one more drink" at Magnus'. In 1x06 Alec says screw the rules and screw everything when Izzy tells him, his parents want him to get married. So he kind of lets down his walls for that night. In the morning he might realizes he has to think of his family and his family's honor so he is upset with himself. Plus I think he realizes he actually does like this handsome warlock and it is easier to distance himself from him. It is just my personal opinion on the scene tho.

I think it would be hard to fully recreate the scene since they can't redo the entire apartment, shave Harry's facial hair & wait for it to grow back to film the next episode, and the tunic from season one is probably missing since fashion departments tend to throw clothes away, give them to other studios, or sell them after a season is finished.
