After all these months I am still asking myself WHY do they want to give us so many legendaries, conduits, covenants etc.. first of all the conduit system isnt even needed, 2 systems are enough, on top of that these 2 systems are absolutely overloaded especially legendary... if they would make it in a way where they remove 3 legendaries from each specc, then everything is easier to balance as well.

Because if the game was just level to cap -> get some gear, everyone would quit playing a week or two after capping. It's an artificial leveling system that hides the real changes to the game from expansion to expansion. It's why you got squat diddly for leveling up in BFA and all your character progression was in the Heart of Azeroth and gear grinding for Azerite traits.

The fact that general public are the testers and pay to do so is even more incriminating. It gets worse each year. Dec's - can't design a game play style well. General player base - tell them how they fail at their jobs and how to do it better for only £9.99 a month....... Bargain. I asked for the refund and received it. BFA was a poor show and I cannot see this expansion being even on par with that mess. I've spent 6 months of watching guildies complain, piss and moan. The worst part is they haven't even fixed some game breaking stuff let alone covenant abilities. The abilities at the moment are not even the issue. The game doesn't work!!!

I find kinda annoying the fact that the potency conduits are tied to the split branches, instead of being in the central spots. We all know everyone wants to take the Potency slots, just put them on the two central slots and then fill the rest with defensive and finesse. The other option would be to take the slots out of the trees entirely and transform it into a system like the PvP Talents. 4 slots where you could fit whatever Conduit you want, with the limitation that you can only have two of the same type (That way, you could craft your character to have 2Potency, 1Defensive, 1Finesse; or 2P 2D, or 2D, 1P, 1F, whatever way you think is better for your character)

Sounds like they basically put the min/max abilities at the bottom, and moved the fun gameplay ones to the top. Which seems like a good idea overall - get players into the fun stuff first, and the min/max stuff people can get at their own pace. Dedicated progression players will push to fill out the whole conduit/soulbinds asap, but for everyone else they get to enjoy the fun stuff sooner without having to grind through the boring stat boosts first.

I'm glad Blizzard is so good with progress in Shadowlands. Meanwhile, all the current content is turned upside down too and bugs are born every day. Maps not working anymore, no matter where I am, Zuldazar map appear when I press M. Barn in Garrison doesn't give anymore 1 savage blood per work order, but between 1/3 to 1/2, no idea if nerf or bug. Portals bug. Random disconnects. This evening I got the message "Your account has been logged on from somewhere else". I'm sure it's just a bug, but I hurried to change my password anyway. Very casual play advised for several weeks until things calm down.

Easily fixed if they leave all conduits blank and put a two cap limit on potency conduits. That way people can play the conduits they need for their class, don't stack too many potency conduits as blizzard intended and they get all of the abilities they want. It's like using the community to balance the game.

If they’re struggling due to COVID-19 restrictions then I totally get it 100%. It’s thrown us all for a loop and I can totally overlook and forgive that. I’m happy just having the prepatch for now. But if they’re struggling because the higher ups decided to cut costs by letting a bunch of people go and then handed their responsibilities off to the people they kept on without any sort of pay raise, then that’s unacceptable and it’s the higher ups’ fault, not the employees with twice the workload and not twice the pay.

Hrm....one wonders if this was the ripcord the devs meant. It's a lesson learned in the past and is a fairly obvious change. By doing this they move the main player power component to the front while still allowing fine tuning by the player by how they use conduits and path choices. Also fun to watch the community just freak out and attempt to sidestep the sky ;)

Forget soulbinds, covenants or even “leggos” *rolls eyes* The real thing ruining shadowlands is the beta without NDAs “People are getting bored with the new systems” bored. Bored? Before the thing has even been released. Maybe because We’ve heard so much about it we feel like weve already played it. End the community doing your QA. We don’t need to be updated on every iteration, adjustment and balance happening behind the scenes like we are all part of some QA board of directors. It’s toxic AF

It's really not toxic, a normal game I would agree with but personally the only reason I care about these systems is to see if they are balanced, so I can compete in PvP and not feel like my covenant is doing all the work

You could remove this, remove the covenant abilities, remove maw farming for the Tower... heck, you could remove the legendaries as well. And I doubt anyone would care. The only thing that would expose is how small an expansion this is once you take away systems to grind.

It’s only available if you have an RTX graphics card, so presumably you’d have a better frame rate with it anyways.

We’re seeing Blizzard make changes.....” yet they’re not making the only 2 changes we have actually asked for..... instead, they’re delaying the expansion, and trying desperately to “balance” things that can’t be balanced and turning things upside down on a weekly basis. When all they need to do is listen to what we asked for. Remove the covenant abilities and conduits. Stop giving us “borrowed power”. Put development into the classes and specs themselves. Not into temporary shit that goes away in the next patch

I'm of the mind that they should have just said 'you can only have 2 of any given conduit type' but then leave the conduit slots neutral and just slot in what you want so you can actually choose a soulbind path that's interesting to you.

Shadowlands is the rehab clinic and we've dropped Blizz off there. We don't know if it'll work, we've been stuck in a damaged relationship for so long now. Rehab might not work, maybe we'll see a small improvement on the surface but underneath all the old troubles remain. But at least they checked themselves in and gave it an effort. It might not stick this time, but we won't give up trying.

So to run a proper Beta test you need to try out different things to see how they work. Some of them you think will suck but you still need to experiment anyway because you might discover something that you didn't expect. If this is what they are doing, good for them. If not, well, we'll see what it looks like when it launchez.
