The series doesn't need to get a lot of revenue in so they can take the "risk" of letting the animators form a team of friends instead of a team in their budget. Yes, talent is still important, but if it weren't for the money in the franchise, they wouldn't have the freedom to begin with.

@@Modie Majority of the budget in an anime production goes toward advertising, multiple industry proffessionals have stated this. Budget is irrelevant because the director of this anime has connections to big industry names. You clearly don't reallly know what you're saying. That "team of friends" consists of some of the strongest talents in the industry like Arifumi Imai and Miso. There was no form of risk taken in letting big industry names do this, as a matter of fact that would have helped speed up production. Budget has very little to do with quality. Nobody's denying that a budget is necessary for a show to be produced, but in most cases a good chunk of the budget doesn't even go into the animation department.

It can still go more to the animators and btw, just because it's below US standards doesn't mean it's not higher than the average anime. Your point has no value in that regard. I mean, that's not to mention that this anime doesn't need as much advertisement in the first place as the game advertises the anime and the other way around. And then there is the second point. So you think the large names in the industry are just doing an anime for a huge company that makes a lot of money from their gacha titles for basically standard wage? No, guess what, big names are usually paid bigger, otherwise every studio would hire them. That's how the market works. Yes, animation is done by talent, but better talent will cost you more money as well. It's literally common sense. It's quite fascinating how you claim I don't know what I am talking about when all you can do is make up an argument I never made (like that animation is the highest cost when making an anime) and even when making a point to the actual topic, contradict your previous statement.

@@myspectrum339 I 100% agree, this episode alone had Arifumi Imai, Hironori Tanaka, Yukina Kosaka, Tatsuya Yoshihara, Kou Yoshinari, Hahi, and Sute just to name a few I personally know well. These are all god tier animators but the only god tier animator who really works on demon slayer is Nozomu Abe from my knowledge. Ufotable isn’t a bad studio, they just have 80% cgi in most of their anime and I’m not the biggest fan of that honestly.

And throw onto the pile that Pecorine is likely out of gas. She was pushing herself to the very limit attacking that golem over and over. That's probably why the ring reacted and took her in that moment. That's a nightmare scenario for Pecorine and she has no one around that she can rely on. A very effective cliffhanger.

Seeing all these characters fighting united against a powerful opponent while also bringing in their own individual styles...I don't know what it is about these types of scenes but it just gets me all happy and excited. i consider the avengers films animated. i like them for similar reason why i like animation, it blows my freaking mind the spectacle and artistry of it. its really more of a blend of animation and live action than it is just live action, and thats a whole other set of mindblowing problems to solve. we are jaded to it and just say "its done with computers" but its truly incredible stuff. the scene in one of the movies where they are fighting hulk in africa with project veronica is one of my favorites. the film avatar basically invented a new level of filmmaking, a new workflow and it raised the bar. it paved the way for ambitious projects like the mcu. the way big budget movies are made changed after avatar regardless of if you think its a good movie or not. (it deserved film of the year, not the hurt locker. thats the year i quit watching the academy awards and i actually liked the hurt locker but avatar was literally a game changer. no one remembers the hurt locker)

I always was curious about this clip - why animation was so stupidly amazing. Reason it turns out - is most of the artists at Cygames are the former final fantasy, square artists. All their classic artist that basically did all the old quality stuff before the 3d generation ended up at this company - concept artists ext. (due to a change over). This is why this series has 'sickening good animation' Was always curious over why a series about collecting princess was so 'crazy animated' - this is why. I'm going to watch this studio damned closely.

I mean, I tried watching it back when S1 aired. I knew nothing and was thrown off during the first half of the first episode, because it was clear that this was going to be a comedy and I wouldn't enjoy the jokes. And I still don't miss anything since I can be sure that the well animated moments will be clipped anyway.
