I feel bad that Suda 51 didn’t get to create his vision but I absolutely love Shadows! In my top 5 favorite 360 games!

Troy Baker is probably the best scarf player of his generation. The 'Jimi Hendrix of scarf,' if you will.

All that Kurayami info and that dlc mode in Evil Within is blowing my mind. Amazing video!
@khasho3 жыл бұрын
Assignment DLC was directed by John Johanas who directed Evil Within 2. Kurayami means darkness that's why that mode is dark. Evil within is a survival horror game inspired by inception.

Cool video as always. It's a shame what happened to the original concept, I think that would've been really cool. I didn't know any of this so thanks for sharing.

Interesting take on some of the game's stage layouts and their possible history of being part of Kurayami's production. I remember it feeling really odd how you explored a few random homes for menial items or keys in the beginning and again near end of the game. You can almost see the seams between Kurayami layouts and SotD stages once you realize what was really going on. I could've sworn one of the decapitated heads looked just like one of the early concept art characters, but I could be wrong about that. It's really upsetting to consider Suda has most likely given up on ever making Kurayami the way he originally intended. It's also hard to read Guarini's later takes on the production, saying working with Suda was enjoyable and didn't suspect him to have any ill will towards to project. More likely than not, Suda was just putting up a front, because I'm sure he isn't the kind of person who'd want to bring everyone down with his objections towards a project he has no choice but to finish at that point.

Really cool video. I love Shadows of the Damned for it's wacky elements and I had no idea how far it was from the original idea. Looking forward to the next video.

Great video man. I guess this became a wakeup call for suda about what style everyone expected from his games. He probably came to appreciate his earlier works (and rightfully so, since they are unique and mature without being generic wacky anime crap), and maybe thats why we managed to get the silver case and its sequel.

This is so fucking good, hard to believe it doesn't have 50,000 views. The game plays like basically a worse Resident Evil 4 in nearly every respect. Even then, the game director deserves credit for making something fairly decent with a distinct vibe.

I wonder if the same thing with Lolipop Chainsaw. The weird timeline where Suda was involved with western devs and didn't have a huge creative input.

It's cool dude, I look forward to seeing the second part. This has been a fun series to binge as both a fan of niche video content and Suda projects; so you got a sub out of me! Will either Black Knight Sword or Diabolic Pitch end up getting dedicated videos?

When I first saw footage for this game back in the day I was disappointed because I was expecting a game more like Killer 7 with Mikami and Akira attached. But when the game came and I played it, I actually loved it. It's a dumb fun game that plays like RE4 but I still enjoyed it. Also just looking up this new director, he seems to be into a lot of indie/artsy games I wonder if he would work with Suda again if EA wasn't involved and wonder what kind of weird game they could make. haha He did end up working with Akia afterwards, seems impressive that he went from open season to this haha.

Jeesh. Your info is wrong. Shadows of the Damned and Silent Hill: Homecoming are two of the best games out there. And you don't insult walking on titties - that is a masterpiece in level design. I don't think "what could have" detracts from what the game turned into though, which I still think is really excellent. Great and interesting video though, good to hear some information from behind the scenes. It's a shame that Suda couldn't convey his vision into the final product, but I still think the game that came out was excellence.

Saninsince992 stay tuned, you might hate me by the end of this haha. Joking aside, I still love Shadows...had to clarify that in the revised intro.
@Saninsince9926 жыл бұрын
You don't have to excuse yourself. Sometimes it can be just frustrating knowing what could have been or what went wrong. And there's enough people that don't enjoy the game where even disliking it wouldn't go against popular opinion. Looking forward to the second part!
