I think I purchased a pre-frank 40GB Fat CECHG02 PS3 that seems to have also been pre-jailbroken haha I think it originally had a 90nm GPU but was switched out with a 65nm one. I paid about $100 AUD total for it. Hopefully it was worth the purchase. I have a spare 240GB ssd laying around so I might upgrade it with that too.

This is a very blessed upload. One thing I'd like to note regarding the controller issues near the beginning at the video; this is a very common issue (the seemingly random inputs) with Dualshock 3's nowadays regardless of their condition and how much they've been used. Fortunately, the issue is very easy to fix. There is a ribbon cable that's seated to the motherboard with a piece of 'foam'. This 'foam' degrades over time, so the ribbon cable is not longer connecting to the motherboard properly. Just fold a piece paper and cut it to size and place it under the foam. Or use a piece of double sided tape. Your controller should work perfectly again (assuming there are no other underlying issues, from my experience it's a perfect fix 8/10 times)

Buying a used original PS3 60GB fat model and softmodding it was the best $200 I've spent (then a couple more for a 2TB SSD). I mostly do PS3/PS2/PS1 emulation, but just having "old reliable" around feels nice.

I wasn't able to get one until I was a teenager a couple of years into the PS4's lifespan. Even then my dad had to take a loan apparently LMAO. I was stuck with a PS2 for an entire generation. I'm still really grateful for that because of the fact that the heavy hitting games in 2014-2015 were literally just pocket change and the eventual release of PS3HEN. I got Infamous and uncharted 1 and 2 for $5 at GameStop.

I understand how you feel about your OG fat PS3. I remember when my dad got our first PS3 back in 2007, although it quickly YLOD'd, but fortunately he was able to get it replaced as it was covered by a warranty. I have so many memories playing on that thing during my highschool years especially with games like COD4, Street Fighter 4, and the Naruto Storm games, and the backwards compatiblity with my PS2 game discs was a godsend. Eventually I graduated highschool in 2010 and joined the military the following year. While I was away at my first base, I would eventually come to find out that my dad had given away our fat PS3 and all my PS3 games to my aunt without telling me, which I remember being upset by since I had alot of save data and memories on it and also really valued the backwards compatibility functionality of it. I ended up picking up a PS3 slim as well as getting a fat PS2 for my PS2 games, which worked well, but I always missed the convenience of having it all in one on the sexy fat boi PS Tripple. My aunt definitely got her mileage out of the OG PS3, and played the heck out of it, it would eventually YLOD'd as well at some point during the mid 2010's. My aunt sadly passed away a few years ago and my dad ended up giving me the old PS3 and my original PS3 games, as well as my aunts PS3 and PS2 games (she was quite the gamer and had good taste, lol) it was bittersweet getting my OG PS3 and games after all these years but sadly the PS3 is dead as mentioned prior. I hope I can one day get it fixed somehow and play on it again. Whats kinda morbid but funny is that my grandma passed away in 2013 while I was still in the air force, and her funeral dvd is stuck in the fat PS3 disc drive when it YLOD, my dad has been asking me to get it out for him, so I gotta figure out how to remove it. My grandma and my aunt haunt my fat PS3 to dis day, lol

I think this is also available in EU, but NA only received this DLC digitally. - Gal*Gun (port of 360 ver. with extra stuff and PS move support, also remastered on Switch/PC) - Ketsui (also on 360/PS4) - Koihime Enbu (also on PS4/PC) - Mamorukun Curse (port of arcade/360 ver. with all DLC) - Onechanbara Z (port of 360 ver. with extra stuff) - Phantom Breaker Extra (also on 360, Omnia ver. on PS4/Switch/PC) - Puyo Puyo Tetris (also on 3DS/Vita/Wii U/PS4/Xbox1/Switch/PC) Ridge Racer 7 and Eternal Sonata are also worth picking up for PS3 since they are also 360 ports with extra content. god I love the PS3. the type of people who shit on that generation don't understand that while it had mishaps and games that ran like shit (looking at you Drakengard 3), all of those things contributed to giving it a feeling all its own; while also being a necessary bridge between the PS2/PS4. we would not have any modern day bangers had it not been for the PS3's awkward early HD and its attempts to push beyond what its hardware was capable of.
