@@shadowsmoked88 I bought one of the old paperbacks by author Evangeline Walton called 'The Song of Rhiannon" about an ancient Welsh Witch called.... Rhiannon. Stevie was a big fan of this author and I think these books had a big influence on Stevie's whole persona. Also one of my best friends went to High School with Stevie Nicks. They spent a summer as chemistry buddies, because they both failed chemistry and had to take it over. I did not believe my new friend Heidi when she told me this. This was back in the mid-70"s when Fleetwood Mac was getting HUGE. So the next day Heidi came to work with her Pasadena (Cali) High School Annual. Heidi opened that annual up and pointed to a photo of this fresh faced smiling blonde girl with a somewhat high ponytail with bangs. I remember in the late 90s early 00s before we had Sephora in Canada, there was a tiny little shop in downtown Vancouver that carried Too Faced make up and my friends and I used to go down and just obsess over it. I remember a few years later buying a little jar of loose glitter with a tiny powder puff in it (which seems like an absolute nightmare to have now but you know... youth). After that, I got pretty into MAC and Urban Decay. By the time I started going to Sephora here (it was like 2008) I feel like TF was a lot more mainstream. I still love the peach palette and the little metal palette that had macarons on it (sugar pop I just checked!!) but it's kind of wild to remember just how crazy different they were in the beginning.

Re Susan Little, in the UK it's fairly common practice when registering a new company with Companies House to get your solicitor to do it. The solicitor becomes the first registered director of the company, but they then log the paperwork to get to resign and be replaced with their client, the true owner of the company. Wonder if that's what happened with the trademark. Having said that, this was a really interesting video and must have taken so much research. Also, that Lip Injection thing was the actual DEVIL. I worked in Boots the Chemist back when that product came out and our store had a Too Faced stand. The girl who worked it would try some products on us to help sell the products and she tried that on me and I took such a terrible reaction to it. My whole mouth swelled up; it was awful. So awful that it put me off the enitre brand - I've never tried another Too Faced product since.

@deathbeforedecaf77554 жыл бұрын
@@casey5683 I think it’s incredibly ignorant to blame this on Estée Lauder. Unless they are indie, most brands are owned by a parent company and most brands don’t have such an identity crisis. Too Faced’s faults have little to do with what parent company they have. EL bought them in 2016 and Jerrod still has a big hand in how TF is run. They had decades to figure out their brand and to get their sh$t together. Their problems are bc they aren’t setting the trends but merely following them. I agree they need a complete overhaul . Let’s not be so lazy in our views and put blame in the right places. Jerrod ran his company into the ground and it’s Jerrod who cannot keep up with the current market. Not the big bad parent company. Lmao. So stupid!

DeathBeforeDecaf I mean Estée Lauder DEFINITELY has problems but I think you’re right about not blaming the parent company for Too Faced’s downfall; it seems like they had kinda been stagnating in general and were being less consistent, which is on them

I really liked your video. I'm so glad you worked with this video with Smokey Glow. I subscribed because I enjoyed how through your video was. I like make-up looked into as an academic almost university style class. So many people don't concentrate on the business aspects of beauty. P.S. I love your hair. I like your make-up as well. Also, are you from Canada ? You say about very differently.

I’m so glad I came across ur page through Smokey glow . I’ve only recently came across her channel as well but this is content I love to watch! I’m a makeup junkie so learning about history of brands and even people that have impacted the beauty community is amazing bc jus like u I love researching origins of brands, products and people who have made a career for being a makeup lover like myself ! The only downer is looking at ur page and seeing u don’t post often but maybe one day? Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Your hair looks amazing And my first ever perfume I bought when I was like 12 in 2002 was too faceds love hangover and I still had it until about a year ago when I finally threw the end of it out but I had worn in every day for a long time back then. I also got a huge body glitter with a big puff in it from them back then. I don’t remember what it was called but I remember loving all their glitter products and the lip venom! Omg what a blast from the past!
