My mom and Shaft. As a black woman, she finally had her crush back then. Shaft Goes To Africa squashed that as soon as she saw him hanging upside down and naked. Mom died at age eighty-one about nine years ago, but I think she would've giggled at the Snob's review since she was also a Cinema Snob fan. So, yeah, Brad. You were funny enough to crack an old woman up and seeing a new post would make her day. #memories PEACE

I still don't like it, but I've accepted it at least a little. Remember running water, you'll miss it when it's gone. Well that got dark, talking about thumbnails on KZbin videos. The only black exploitation flick I saw was Three The Hard Way with Jim Brown, Fred Williamson, and Jim Kelly. I didn't see Shaft because of the R rating. But Three The Hard Way was rated R as well. These movies were cheesy, but so were most 70s movies that didn't care about being timeless. They had some of the best soundtracks out there and some of the coolest characters, though. Calling basically the black James Bond "Shaft" is ballsy, but it really works. If they'd tried to do this with a white guy and make a white American James Bond, it never would have worked. The 80s I guess had their versions, but they never cared at all about being suave or dressing well. John MacLean wore a wifebeater. Shaft and James Bond always looked like they were somebody. Until I went to high school, I thought Bruce Willis as a ladies man was so unrealistic. Then I realized that's most guys. Sloppy, unshaven and missing key articles of clothing.
