I like that with Shakespeare, your worries won't be the same as with Little Red : for him, you have to be very careful not to go over 10 syllables, otherwise it will screw from 2 to 5 of your played cards, whereas Red only loses benefit on the moment and can still pull an effect on the next turn. On the other side, she is very vulnerable to cancels and discard effects, while Shakespeare is not. His effects will be tougher to pull in theory, but her having to deal with the opponent's effects kind of balance their difficulty, and make them interesting in two uniques ways. It is a good thing imo to have new creative discard oriented gameplays that don't overshadow the previous ones👍

As a general rule: You can never cancel ability effects, unless explicitely stated otherwise (Arthur).

What most intrigues me is how did they manage the translation for this one, because the names don't have the same amounts of syllables in Spanish, for example.

Question about horror cards completion effect. If I had 4 horrors in the line and I attack with the last horror it will be an 8 attack and the line will finish. However would the completion effect not go off because the only card in the line are horror cards? So there are no other cards in the line. Or does it do 4 dmg bc there are 4 other cards other than the card that just finished the line.

I think other means “other than the final horror card” so it should be 4 auto damage which is nuts

Just realized that Alas if used as a defense that finishes the line and lost a combat draws 2 cards and recovers 3 health. Alas and Alice... Coincidence? I don't think so!

Is it wrong that I am super annoyed by "All Are Punished" being 4 syllables? Just because I know it is usually pronounced "Pun-ish-ed" on-stage.

Joke's on you Europeans! In Brazil we don't have the sets locally since little red. So I have to pay an obscene price to import the sets in English, BUT the syllables will line up perfectly.

For now Shakespeare looks like Little Red 2.0 - now with Sinbad flavour!. Seems like the only way to win against him is to be extremly agressive erarly game, because the more effects he pulls out - the more dire your situtaion looks.

Great analysis! That said, I really feel like "All are punished" should be five syllables because I usually think of the last word being pronounced "pun-ish-ed" ("punishèd" in poetry terms, like "wingèd" in the poem "To His Coy Mistress" by Andrew Marvell) in stage performances.

Thanks for the video! I always like your impressions. Shakespeare looks interesting, but I don't think he will reach even a B-tier. With a set of hypothetically blank 2s, a pathetic card draw, very pitiful characteristics, and not a single 4-value block into ranged fighters he will struggle a lot. He took over Mary's and Bullseye's consistency problems. Still, some effects are great but I don't really believe in him
