Hey Everybody! Today Paulo Runs Through "Rahdo's Goofs"
If you find Goofs I didn’t notice Please leave Timestamps :)
Thank You
4:10 He doesn't assist anybody else... he assists Craftsmen, he doesn't assist actors!
14:56 Forgot to update the Player Order Track and to give 1 point to Jen for being the 1st Player
22:54 Actually he has 9 points to spend because of the Assistant he Hired... Each assistant increases the effectiveness of all Craftsmen you activate by 1 point
29:46 Not really... Before the end of the Round and what Richard will explain now you first do an "Ambiance Score":
1- If there are Purple Set Tokens on the Main Board that no player took, all players move their Ambiance Tracker one space to the Left
2- Depending on the position of the Ambiance Token now each player will get nothing, gain or lose the respective element (Victory Points, Money, Quality of one of the Acts)
In this case nothing would happen because they are both at the Nothing happens place... after making that scoring the token is reset to the middle position of the Ambiance Track
30:58 And forgot to put the Green Set piece back on the center of the Set

Thanks for another review. Gorgeous looking game, but a little flavour text for the actors would have been cherry on top. "to be or not to be"...

Kinda seems to me like the love child of a drum roll and rococo relationship in a way... which is a good thing!

First, thanks for not having your camera set for "Auto White-Balance" and thanks for the great tutorial. Second, Ystari holds a special place in my heart because of Yspahan. The beauty of Yspahan combined with gameplay make it one of my all-time favorites. That said, I was in Nan's Games and Comics in Houston and was trying to decide between expansions for Eldritch Horror, Legends of Andor and this game. I LOVE the other two games and spent nearly an hour commiserating over which of the 3 to buy. In the end it was the Ystari brand that won. The aesthetics and game-play mechanisms of this game may have made this my fave game of all time. At least the top 10. Again, thanks for no Auto White-Balance :)

Thank you Rahdo. For your clarity. I found the instructions for this game to be the most disgusting pile of manure I've ever had the misfortune to step in. I'm only at 2:18 on your clock and already I understand more than I did after playing three rounds of the game and wringing the instruction manual into a braid. Which is when I, for the first time in my life, got up and walked away from a board game in progress.

At time stamp 1:01 you put yourself first on the order track and the initiative track. If you are first on the order track you go last on the initiative track. Rule book page 5 - setup - 5th bullet point.

I think you misread that bullet point: "The player who is placed first on the Order track places their last disc on position 1 of the Initiative track, the second on position 2, and so on. " That's what that bullet point says, so Richard played it correctly :)

You appear to be right. However other reviewers do it in reverse. It might also be a translation issue as it would seem unfair that by chance (random) the player going first also breaks ties in their favour.

How to Play "Shakespeare" - The Dragon Table: Episode 35 at time stamp 1:28 show it in the reverse order, which makes sense to me. Otherwise first player gets a free double advantage in the first turn.

Peter, it's clear on the Rules, I don't know what more I can tell you... That video has it wrong, so, you could go there and tell them that they messed up because I already showed you here that the rules are very clear on how to setup the Turn Order and Initiative Order tracks "The player who is placed first on the Order track places their last disc on position 1 of the Initiative track, the second on position 2, and so on. " There's no Double advantage in there, actually being first player during setup isn't that great... You seem to forget that the First player at Setup is the last one to choose one of the Character cards that are drawn during Setup... You also seem to forget that being first in the Initiative during Setup is only good for tie-break for the actual turn order for the 1st round of the game , so you might be First player during Setup. you are the last one to choose the Character you start with and then you might not even be first player for the actual round if you decide to do more actions than anyone else... so, please explain to me where is the Double Advantage of being first player during Setup! Facts: 1- During Setup the First player places their last disc on the first position of the player Initiative track 2- First Player is the last one to choose the Character at the start of the game 3- Being First in the Initiative order will only be good to break ties in case you "bid" the same amount of actions as any other player", that's the only advantage of being First player during Setup, if you take that away being first player during setup only has disadvantages! 4- Being First on the Initiative track will only last until the Start of Round 1, then, after the turn order for Round 1 has been established all discs come off the Initiative track and the first player that activates an actor during the first round gets to be the 1st in the Initiative track... Lastly, I said it before I'll say it again, Richard played it right!

Went to see that video you talked about, at 3:28, not 1:28, she does 2 Errors... the one in the Initiative Order track and then she says that you pick the Characters in Turn order... that's wrong, picking the characters is done in reverse turn order... I guess you didn't read the rules and were going by what you learned from that rules explanation, going from that video I can see where you get the Double Advantage for first player... it would be if the picking of the characters was done like she says but it's not, it's in reverse turn order... It's always good to check the rules for yourself so you can be sure that no one is teaching you the game the wrong way!
