Shakib is an insane raw talent. I remember a series against Sri Lanka. He came back from Dubai & USA with total 36 hrs of journey. He didn’t even net practice or anything. Jarrod! i don’t know whether u'll read my comment or not! But I have been watching Bangladeshi cricket thoroughly since 01! I was a first class cricketer and played for the Khulna Division for 2 years, then I was admitted into an Engineering institution! Shakib will be regarded as the cult hero of Bangladesh sports! Who was actually ahead of Many Bangladeshi people! The people from Bangladesh are Bengali! And i can tell you,this is one of the most complicated groups of people. Indian Football was once destroyed by the Bengalis of West Bengal. The chaos and the anger of shakib is actually the survival method of Bangladesh! Shakib is just a product of his society! No other Bangladeshi player hadn’t had such a chaotic career because they were not quite world class enough of their own segment. Shakib always wanted to bring Justice to the cricketing system, it's the worst. Shakib had nothing to do with politics, but in Bangladesh, everything is political. So eventually he had to jump into politics so that he can be a part of the cricket dictating system in Bangladesh. And yes,Shakib we believe shakib could change BPL in a single Day! 😅 Throughout his career,shakib Didn't maintain any special relationship with vulgar Bengali journalists, so there was always someone who tried to make Shakib a villain, even though he was fair enough. Did you know why shakib threw stumps? The umpiring that was going on during that time in DPL was beyond imagination. Shakib had to do that,so authority would listen.In Bangladesh that's how Justice and demands are fulfilled! Believe me! Just follow the Bangladeshi news,you will know.

You're so naive. You think Shakib threw the stumps to bring justice to the BD cricket system? 😂 You believe he had no other choice but to jump into politics? 😂 You're truly naive. All the controversial things he's done in his life were because he knew he'd never face any real consequences. He grew up this way-self-centered-because he knew there was no one better than him in BD cricket, and the BCB treated him as if he was bigger than the game itself, even larger than the board. If you think I’m a Shakib hater, you're mistaken. I was one of his biggest fans. I blindly supported him through all his missteps-until July-August happened

1. I think more than 150 people were accused in that case. Shakib's name came up cause he was part of the ruling party and was only written for publicity purposes which became a major issue in the international cricketing world but back home nobody took it seriously even though we are seriously disappointed in his political career and how he handled himself during the students' revolution. 2. The groin issue was silly. People do not want any indecent behaviour on TV in Bangladesh. That more than anything was the reason. You can't even swear on any network. 3. He should never have gotten into politics during his playing days. He had a direct path to being the Board President with the support of everyone in Bangladesh but he messed it up by shooting his shot too early. I think he wanted to join even earlier which would've been even worse for his career and image. 4. Didn't know about the curator. Details are foggy with the fight with the fans thing. Didn't know about the text thing. Didn't know about the middle finger thing. 5. No entry is due to the political climate. He made his bed and now he has to lie in it. That's pretty much it. 6. Timed out was fair. If it's in the rules of the game, don't cry about it. 7. Uprooting of stumps and the umpire things were fair. The people were behind him as well. Corruption and match fixing ran rampant in domestic circuit. He led the protest and actually started it by doing those things which resulted in scrutiny and the board having to reign the corruption in as well as umpires being accountable for blatant match fixing. 8. BCB always hated him cause he questioned them. But couldn't throw him away cause he was their best player and biggest marketable asset. 9. BPL is still in shambles. New political reign is showing signs of the league improving. But the BCB messed it up so bad that Shakib's comments were justified. 10. The strike was one of the reasons that the BCB wanted to incriminate him with the fixing stuff. Don't believe he ever fixed matches but knowing he didn't inform the authorities is a real black spot in his legacy. 11. Tamim stuff came from Hathurusingha. The coach wanted control of Bangladesh's cricket and created a rift between the two. Ultimately resulted in the destruction of Bangladesh cricket. All three parties are accountable. 12. GT20 was the organization's fault. They merely made Shakib the scapegoat to cover up their tracks. . But when it is all said and done, he's one of the greatest allrounders of all time. Could've been even better if he made better decisions in his lifetime. But his legacy has been tarnished in these last few years which is really sad to see as a Bangladeshi.

here are insights from someone who watched every game of shakib's time. i think after becoming number one alrounder in every format, he tried to achieve greatness in odi format. his options are: asia cup, wc and champions trophy. we all know u have to be spectacular in atleast one tournament even if u play 3 or 4 of these in your carrer. so what happened was, the rest of the players around the first fabulous five of BD cricket could not deliver much and the 4 out 5 generational talent made peace wirh it. shakib didnt. every time he gave double effort, he failed miserably. the two times he was captain for the wc squad, the performances were horrible. so many times in my life watching shakib play, out of knowhere felt like he understood the game is out of hand so he started being reckless. this is something that damaged him a lot. but still, he managed to achieve records and his name will be only remebered in record book of world cricket if someone else will break his record. thats the reality he could not accept!

Jarrod, I admire you as my favorite cricket analyst. So hoping that you will read this comment to better understand the situation. You might not know the situation from the outside. But I was one of his biggest fan and I am saying he deserves more disrespect than what he is getting now. He was a Member of Parliament representing the fascist reign of Hasina. But that isn't all. Mashrafee was an M.P. too, and many other cricketers indirectly support the government. During the protests, all of them either stayed silent or said something diplomatic, in favor of both the people and the fascist. But, our wonder boy not only said anything at all, he was touring with his wife and they were posting photos of their good times when the Police force were killing student discriminately. Literally it was bloodshed in the streets. And even after the fall of the regime, he stayed silent and he has an overinflated ego, not capable of apologizing. Only posted an apology some days ago, two months after everything, just to play at his home. Which isn't his priority by the way, he just wants to get hands on all of his assets in the country, gained via corruption and move abroad. (About not apologizing for two months. Well, actually he lacks humanity, so why would he apologize? He is involved in share market manipulation, didn't pay remuneration of the workers in his Crab business, allegations of match fixing, creating groups in the team and many other wrongdoings are his achievements.) Lastly, there is an infamous collage photo of Shakib having the time of his life, while his fans asking him to speak just a word against all the violence an an MP, and not only did he do anything, but his wife also mocked the people of the countries by uploading a photo with a caption "A well day spent in Toronto", showing ahis face with a beaming, unapologetic smile. And under that, a bloody student laying dead in a rickshaw.

Shakib was favourite to Hasina, the ousted prime minister (she used to send her own cooked food to Shakib). If you look at her life, it was more chaotic with stellar economic and social growth (in a Muslim country being woman), the success is because how she handled rival superpowers like India and China and being a feminist/anti-religious extremism. But she can't also enter the country because of the anti-democracy, economic mismanagement, corruption, over influence of India/China. It will be interesting to see the future of Bangladesh and it's two religions (Islam and Cricket) without Hasina and Shakib.
@areebsiddiqui758Ай бұрын
Hasina was none of what you described and definitely not a feminist. She was a pro establishment opportunistic and one of the most corrupt democratic leaders in this part of the world. The reason Bangladesh is where it is right now is largely down to her.
@mdreazhosen5Ай бұрын
@@areebsiddiqui758@areebsiddiqui758 I don't deny her negatives which is a lot. But the positives are huge too. 1. She did brought so much money from "autocratic" China who wanted influence in Bangladesh as an upcoming superpower (maybe a autocratic country like China?). African countries don't go from lower earning to middle lower earning country like Bangladesh because either USA or China don't help them (the two countries owining half the world's money). Most of the improvement, electricity, roads, infrastructure happened in rurual areas (the bigger part of Bangladesh), so you probably don't notice your living standards increasing from an urban place? 2. But India (an economic superpower too) will almost always hate you for liking their enemy China unless you are literally Sheikh Mujib or Hasina - the two people India won't hate (Mujib humiliated their arch rival Pakistan the most). We benefited from them more than they hurted us (they should not hurt us which they are regretting now). E.g. We gained more land with the border conflict under Hasina. Look the Pakistan India border. 3. She was a feminist unlike right winger dictators like Modi, Trump, Xi Xinping, Putin etc. Trump is a far right hating feminism. Xi Xinping wants Chinese women to focus on having more children. We did improve women's right more than India. If you deny that you will also be denying that Yunus helped poor women, thus increasing gender equality. Her progressive stance on minority rights (e.g. Hindu) or winning literally the best award for climate change speaks volume. 4. Almost all Muslim countries are an example of failure unless they have oil. It's because Islam hasn't been reformed like Christianity. Hasina flirted with Islamist but she did resisted Islamic uprisings (partly by making her father a prophet which only she could do because she is his daughter). Hasina was this glue that put everything together, a delicate balance that worked magic and suddenly the hell has unleashed without it. Hasina did deserve a Nobel prize (Yunus's biggest fear 😂) for helping one of the largest refugee the Rohingya Muslim which earned her international praise. But given how some shitty people have won that prize and the sore relationship with Yunus (who is arguably the most respected intellectual in the world) makes it impossible. Hasina is definitely the Iron lady (Indira Gandhi) of Bangladesh. But it could be that I am talking to people or autopass মেধাবী 😂 (talented), (just joking) whose knowledge only go as far as Ayanaghor.

So did Tamim . Tamim also wanted to be an aspirant in election . But , Hasina rejected him , From this perspective, Tamim also favoured hasina . Why u all don't talk about this?

@@areebsiddiqui758 What? You are so wrong in what you said. She is perhaps the most autocratic female leader in the history of the world. She killed people like it was nothing. Anyone who raised a voice against her system's corruption she used to Kill, Jail or Disappear. Bangladesh Improved DESPITE Hasina, Not because of her.

If you want to know what type of shenanigans this guy gets up to that board doesn't have enough space , this guy was caught manipulating stock markets and swindling people out of money , hitting fans , threatening to sue reporters and Journalists , slapping photographers ,extra marital affairs , doing ads for gambling which is illegal in Bangladesh , talking to bookies ,he even slapped his voters that voted for him. I cannot think of anything this man has not done , there is a funny phrase about Shakib it goes like this : he is number one in everything, Matee (field ),Ghate (stables) , Khate(bedroom). The bangladeshi fans adore him at the same time don't take him seriously , all the posters of him ,whether it be a ice lolly , fashion etc , the photographers always tend to make Shakib look like a fool (when he is licking a lolly it looks like an adult actor about to climax) , when he is in a royal garb he jumps and clicks his heel like a fairy, even the photographers love him , they always take shots of his round posterior.He once grabbed his junk in front of an umpire and asked the gentlemen if he had big grape fruits.He is a bad example for the young cricketers , there was a player that tried to be just like him Sabbir rahman but the board realized one Shakib is more than enough they let him go , the board had to always go back to him because it was like the ashraful syndrome , we can't drop him because he is the best that we have.
