You let the bird die
@coolgal18115 жыл бұрын
Your video brought back memories of our beloved "Muniya" a baby sparrow whose parents and siblings had flown away but her wings were still not developed. We decided to take care of her and feed her. She slowly started growing in our house and got mingled with my parents and brothers sisters as well. We used to feed her cooked rice and even used to catch mosquitoes for her evening dinner. This was way back in 1998 when we didnt have mobile phones or camera to capture the moments with her. And one day when she was grown up ,she flew away...we got sad but we were glad that she has gone back to her own world and bird friends. We still miss Muniya. I wish i get a chance again to foster a bird. I just love animals and birds so much.

Kritika, you are a very good human being. So are the members of your family, esp your parents who raised you to be this way. A special thanks to your parents, and your brother, for their compassion. As Buddha said, Compassion is the greatest of human virtues'. I also grew up in India, in Calcutta, and my home was an animal hospital and rescue center managed by me as a child, then teen. I had all types of wild animals and lots of cats in a recovery or rescue operation growing up. I continued this as an adult in America. I recently rescued a baby sparrow, now gone, so I know exactly how Shakira behaved with you, and the joy those little birds can bring. They get so attached to you, and have a special chirp of joy when they see you! Well done on your rescue and subsequent release, this was hard, but morally the right thing to do. All things that are worth doing are hard. Remember that. Nothing is easy. Couple of things you must know for future: 1. Bird must not eat off your plate. Next to you is fine, but keep your eating hand clean of any bird touching. Diseases are many, esp in a tropical place like India. Even if you don't get a bird disease, there may be parasites, or carriers of other bugs. Keep bird and your food separate. 2. If you give bird stuff like rice, or bread, or dosa, it might expand in their stomachs and cause them to die. Careful not to feed them anything that will expand. 3. When feeding baby birds who open their mouths to feed, you have to roll a pellet, and push it deep into the throat. This is why their beaks are yellow edged, so parents know where to aim their food at. From throat, food goes into a sac on side of neck which fills up like a balloon. When mama bird goes off to find more food, baby starts digesting from the sac into the stomach. 4. Giving water to a baby bird can kill it by drowning. If you try to feed water directly with a dropper, it will most likely go to wrong tube in throat, the windpipe, and drown the bird. Do not feed water with a dropper to babies or any bird!! This is a well known fact with rescues. Instead, wet the pellet down and push deep into mouth. You can hold water up to the bill and dip bill into it gently and let bird decide to drink or not. 5. Live mealworms are great for baby birds. Use tweezers to push into throat. Live food gives huge energy and health to birds. Later, bird will eat them herself. Pellets can be made from chickpea flour (besan) if you don't find baby bird pellet food in stores there, but in that case, also include live worms - earthworms, mealworms, etc. Good thing she ate those bugs coming out of the coriander seeds!! Gives high protein to birds. Everything else you did was correct and good for the bird. The water baths, the handling and love for the baby, the playing, so very good for the bird emotionally and physically. Very well done young lady!!! fyi... SEPARATE, not SEPERATE.

Lass-in Angeles, This video and your Reply to Kritika touched me very deeply. I love birds myself, as well as the dogs, cats, horses. I wish you were my next door neighbor instead of these two neighbors one on each side of my little home. I was feeding the birds, but this year 2019 I couldn't they called county on me twice and told me to get an certain kind of feeder.??? But I will find out feed the birds again. I live along and feeding the birds brings me soo much joy. I had red bird "cardinal" came up to my sliding glass door would insist for hid peanut. How amazing this little bird get what he wants. I felling love with Kritika and her parents. They are really raising tomorrows amazing adults. If you read this comment would you reply? Thank you.

mostly not the case if they are in captivity they will not see adult bird hunt and feed them they will not develop the instinct that they suppose to have that's why your bird keep getting back because he don't know to hunt so probably most of the time they will just get lost if you free them and died. they don't have the ability to hunt because of the safe environment that they are in that need to survive alone. well sparrow only live 3 years so probably the bird die by now :) my advise is unless you have the tool or can train this bird to be on there own I think better just to keep it. I know people have good intention freeing them but if the bird is not train or not adapted in the wild on there own high chance they just died for the reason I mention above.

One day i saw a dead chick fall down from the nest. Guards of my office knew i am fond of birds/animals so few days later our guards came to me with mynah chick, luckily she was not hurt while falling from the nest, so i brought her home, used to feed her with syringe. Now Alhamdulilah she's grown up and she moves freely in my home, my room etc even she started talking as well. We love her too much. She loves us too. Wish i could Attached her pictures but i am unable here. Anyway thanks for the lovely video.

Oh my I thought I was the only one who loves sparrows. I feed them everyday. They sit so close to me I could touch them but dont want to over step my boundaries. This video was awesome. Thank you for sharing

आपका गोरैया के प्रति इतना प्रेम देख कर अच्छा लगा की हमें भी पक्षियों की रक्षा करनी चाहिए और प्रकृति को बचाये

To be frank all of us are missing these beautiful mornings these days. Many people say these birds are dying because of excessive usage of mobile phones. I don't know what were the facts but I thank you Kritika for sharing such a beautiful morning today. Thank you Shakira
