Speaks about 5 or 6 languages, she is always behind every detail of her performances or songs, freaking humble, on her concerts most of the times doesn't have nor need back up dancers and she really is a true artist. Yes, Shakira plays the guitar, drums and harmonica, that I know of. She sings in English, Spanish, French and Arabic. She is Lebanese and Colombian. Grew up in Colombia. Her mother or grandmother taught her how to belly dance or do those kinds of movements. She started as a rock/pop/ballad chick in Colombia when she was like 15 years old. First album came out in 1996 or so and some of the songs are there are still classics, but she has so many since then. She is underrated in the USA but is extremely popular worldwide. This song in particular is on her album called Shakira and she does it in Spanish also just by herself.

Forgot to mention that the day of the Super Bowl performance was her 43rd birthday. She is married to a professional soccer player from France who plays with the Barcelona team in Spain. He is about 15 years her junior. They have two kids and she has commented that he doesn't like her doing these extremely sexy videos with other men, so she might be cutting back on that.
