That was an amazing talk. It's not just an inspirational talk, it lives many women in India. The words are from the hearts of many women who have been discriminated. Yours, talk has to reach the Universe!! We are all here to support, dear Srividya Maam.

Amazing inputs. She gave a clear picture to what we took as unverified ideas. The position women enjoyed in the Vedic Era is the real position that they deserve, and I'm sure Srividya and her tribe of empowered voices, backed by sound logic and deep grounding in the Indian ethos will surely be able help women reclaim what's rightfully theirs, even if they have to break many glass ceilings or walls for that matter. I am happy that she speaks so well about the position Indian women have taken in the society. I'd be glad to listen to more of what she has to offer, especially her solid research and statistics that make us take note of the notable contributions of Indian women. Gowramma's story is mindblowing. I'm gonna come back for more Ms Nagaraju. Congratulations on celebrating SHAKTI. Deeply proud of your work.

I got another perspective to look at woman=Shakti, which is; when we already are Shakti=Power, we needn't be empowered. Also, was edified by your Ted Talk. Thanks Ma'am, for showing us all the stories of the unsung heroes, which I'm sure will inspire many.

I actually watched Srividya practice for the big day in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. An elderly lady came into the auditorium and said that she came to watch the TED talk and showed me the ticket. I said the TED talks was tomorrow. She said she cannot come tomorrow and will give the ticket to her friend. I told her she could watch Srividya's rehearsal. Once Srividya was done, we could clearly see that the lady was crying and tears were streaming out of her eyes. Srividya and I went closer to her and asked her how was the talk. She said she lost her husband recently and he was the one who took care everything in the house and and she felt weak. Hearing Srividya's talk, she felt that she should take charge of her life. She hugged Srividya and left. It was an amazing experience to be part of. This happened in 2015 and it feels like yesterday to me. The next day Srividya presented and she got several standing ovations. Soon after she interacted with several people in the community and they got a glimpse of the power and love of the Indian woman. Thank you Srividya!!

With all due respect we forgot to discuss the glorious tradition called the dowry system or daheja pratha - the mother lode of evil that has lead to rampant foeticide, infanticide and bride burning. These issues come under the purview of basic human rights and cannot not be addressed.

What are you talking about? You need to EDUCATE YOURSELF & DECOLONIZE & LIBERATE YOURSELF from the MENTAL, INTELLECTUAL & EMOTIONAL SLAVERY. Go find out how the STREE DHAN was converted & distorted as "dahej/dowry" the terms that are neither Indian, nor Hindu, nor VEDIC. To understand the deaths due to dowry, go find the BEGINNING of these evils, YOUR DOWTRY evils: read DOWRY MURDERS by Veena Talwar Oldenberg. Or are you going to keep pervorming whatever your master orders you to do? And before going on your rant of "human rughts" of Hindu women, go & look up the ORIGINS of these evils... Let me tell you... you will be shocked to find out how they came into Indoa & Hindu tradition...

I am talking about dowry system as it subsists today..... Its history as expounded by you doesnt change the status quo.of dowry system as an exploitative and abusive tradition stands today ... We live in 21st century right?

So this video isn't really about the power of femininity, or a discussion on that. It's about individual examples of Indian women who did important things in India.
@poonamabbi7448
@poonamabbi7448 7 жыл бұрын
And what yopu do in the west, with women, is about " the power of femininity?" The scantily clad half naked women shaking their arses & bounscing their titties doung the oh sorespectable & intellectually demanding commercials selling everything from the afyer shave to the cars, & doing everything from "supporting" the men in sports right from the junior high schools to the pros... what do yoi call them? Ah yes... the cheer leaders... The list is endless...
@kaseybrown7664
@kaseybrown7664 7 жыл бұрын
Scantily clad half naked women are like that because they have the freedom to choose how they dress. They have every right to dress that way if they want. A woman can be a cheerleader if she wants, or she can play sports. Or she can study science. She has the freedom to make any choice, because in the west, women are empowered and there's nothing stopping them. In fact, they're SO free, and SO privileged, that they have to dream up ways that they're oppressed. Hence they make up things like "patriarchy" so they can imagine themselves struggling against some imagined power, because unending luxury can be boring.

@@kaseybrown7664 I was tracking until the second paragraph. The witch trials are still alive, today, in the west. Women are oppressed in so many ways. Not every woman, but one is too many. All men are born to a woman and they are to be revered!

tThe statistisc about the rape she mentions are quite biased, in Poland most rapes are not reported from fear of repression against victim, and when same rapist rapes few times same day or "police" counts it as one. I don't know how it is in your country but always consider wider sociological spektrum of problem. Nowadays statistics are as biased as during totalitarian rulers..
@kaseybrown7664
@kaseybrown7664 8 жыл бұрын
If most rapes are not reported, how do you know they happened?
@evaiskra11
@evaiskra11 8 жыл бұрын
Because I talk to people from foundation and organisation helping victims of rape. Most terrifying thing is that even those educated and well-situated women won't report rape ( ex.in workplace) because of fear of negative consequences for them like hazing or dismissal. ask your female friends I can guarantee you that at least one of them was forced to give "proof of love" or had sex not wanting it but for the for the sake of peace. Rape is not only big bad man attacking you when you go back from movies - boyfriends rape they girlfriends, husbands their wives etc.
@kaseybrown7664
@kaseybrown7664 8 жыл бұрын
Arnikka I have dozens of female friends. None of them have any stories of being raped, but that's probably because we define rape according to the actual FBI definition of "penetration without consent". Having a man threaten to leave the relationship if you don't give "proof of love" is not rape. The woman is consenting, given the conditions presented, none of which present any actual danger to her, or her livelihood. Having sex with someone so they'll stop asking is also consenting without being under significant duress. If you counted that as rape, then a girl could claim she was raped simply because a man asked more than once and that was considered enough to have sex so he'd stop asking. But this doesn't answer the question. If a rape isn't reported, then how do you know it happened? Because women just never ever lie about rape? Because every woman understands the definition of rape, and doesn't say she was raped when really she just had sex when she wasn't in the mood?

That is what the non-whites & the non-Hindus, or should I say, to put in MORE ACCURATELY, the ANTI-HINDUS do the best... LIE & DENY ALL EVIDENCE ... They will keep insisting that the coal is cold even when it is burning their flesh
