Molly Huddle Shalane Flanagan, two of the women whom are legends, the Marathon is a hit or miss. Very few can win all the time,even amongst the men's elite.
@lulolancy6 жыл бұрын
Shalane's problem in this years, B. marathon, was she didn't, "eat slow," enough throughout her training to run fast.
@MagerialPage4 жыл бұрын
I wonder why she didn't ask her support for an extra layer when she realized she wasn't going to warm up.
@CoelhoSports6 жыл бұрын
she could tear up the road race circuit. makes no sense to just retire cold turkey. just run half marathons and 10k's for a year or two or even gold label marathons without elite fields and pick a slew of trophies and smaller prizes and appearance fees and continue to get sponsor $$.
@adams.22123 жыл бұрын
No reason to do that.
@CoelhoSports3 жыл бұрын
@@adams.2212 weird how you would respond three years after i posted that to say there's no reason for her to continue below elite level when, because all the majors were rescheduled for the fall, she just ran berlin sept 26 (17th in women's elite div), london oct 3 (1st in women's mass start), chicago oct 10 (25th elite women's), boston oct 11 (33rd women's elite division), her own marathon in oregon oct 18 (after tokyo was rescheduled), and new york nov 7 (12th elite women's div), that's 6 marathons, 5 of them world majors, in 6 weeks, with 2 top 20 finishes and if she was allowed into the elite women's start her finish time would have made a third top 20 out of the 6 and the time she ran in oregon would have easily made a 4th if tokyo hadn't been canceled. she ran the equivalent of 4 top 20 major marathon performances, with two more sub-elite finishes, in 6 weeks.

Mike H. Her clarity and honesty are very impressive. She did t get bogged down over her physical response to the freezing conditions. She’s a true champion- mentally and physically

Mark, why didn’t you ask her about her filing an appeal against her own USA teammate Katie Zaferes in Chili?? That was an unbelievably selfish and despicable act for one American to do against one of her own “teammates”. Why not let the judges make the decision on their own?

Can someone tell me what a dnf is?
@hillbillbob91316 жыл бұрын

As much as I love Shalane it's sad to see her end her career in a Porta-Potty.
@smcrunner886 жыл бұрын
She didn't. She ended 7th at the Boston Marathon in one of the toughest conditions in recent history.
@jeighlynn59056 жыл бұрын
Maybe if Shalane had trained a bit more in conditions like these the results would have been different. Good effort though.
@rasher3314 жыл бұрын
What are you talking about, the weather was freaky for Boston and everyone was affected.

Shalane used the word "like", like dozens of times. Is she a valley girl from 'southern CA?
@kevindecoteau31864 жыл бұрын
She's from eastern Mass.
@lulolancy6 жыл бұрын
Shalane made a pit-stop to pee. So she says. It was pouring rain. She could have peed on herself. I think she had to dump shit that she "ate slow to run fast."

The only reason our girls did so well is because the Kenyans couldn't take the COLD.

Do you mean American WOMEN? They are not girls.
@fanofrunbot97716 жыл бұрын
Well, EXCUSE me, wussified X-Gen/millennial. Most women I know would relish keeping their girlhood.
