This is such a bizarre interview. I’ve watched so many documentaries about massacres and genocides but never have I heard the phrase “both sides” thrown around so much when discussing it. There are actually 3 sides in any massacre - the killers, the survivors and the killed - but one group can never tell their story.

It isn't. 19:00 The presenter argues similar atrocities happened from the Palestinian side but nothing on the same scale happened by Palestinians. 22:00 "That's a very hard statement." He says about the documentarian saying that Israel expelled Palestinians. However Israel did expel them. Then suggests this is propaganda.

My deceased father was conscripted and served the Imperial Japanese Navy during the WWII. He had seen the world and was a very educated knowledgeable person. However, when I raised a question about the atrocities the Japanese soldiers commited during the war, he strongly defended the motives, and even concluded I was not qualified to question as I didn't belong to the war surviving generation. It's the very sensitive topic caught between guilt for the acknowledgeable crimes and orders from the military command unallowable to disobey. In the nutshell, war is the event an individual is caused to deny the fact to escape the guilt and shame.

I visited Israel twice and stayed in the Christian(Catholic) Jews and Arab communities. Though their belief is non-judaism, even critical with the "chosen people arrogant myth" and patriarchal tradition, they are highly charged with the Zionism, taking anti-Palestinian stance. For an outsider Christian(Born Again), it's very hypocritical and inscrutable. The fact is self-preservation and survival is their top priority. Interestingly since the recent events I have done much investigation, speaking to some Israelis and came to conclusions that were confirmed in this documentary. I gathered that Israelis weren't told truths about the overtaking of Palestine. All colony countries have to admit their past and the horrors and victimisation of the original.. It's a catastrophe that those who had suffered the horrific infliction on the Jewish people in the Holocaust (including my ancestors), have done and are doing the same. Very good interview I have two comments that I'd like to share: 1. The question of Eric to Elon about why should Ixraelis ( like Elon) criticize Ixrael while Palextinians don't do the same. Elon had a very good answer saying that he shouldn't adopt lower moral standards just because Palextinians are adopting lower moral standards. However, power differences are also relevant. How do you expect Palextinians to put under the light the atrocities they might have committed against Jionist jexs while they struggle making public what they really went through in 1948. 2. About Palextinians running away. If it was the case, why did they prevent their return? They dispossessed them through the absentee law (and the present absentee law for the dispossession of Palextinians citizen of Ixrael). The Palextinians that tried to return to harvest their own land were killed mercilessly. In general, I find strange when Ixraelis would be surprised that they massively expelled Palextinians, isn't Jionism about creating a Jexish mojority state? One of the most important motivation of Jionism is that jexs can't survive as minorities no matter how well they integrate, they can't project to live as a minority in an arxb majority populated land! The Arab leadership left when the civil war (1947) started. and then the local population were told by the Holy War Army (Husseini) to leave, especially in areas that the Jews took over such as Haifa, Jaffa,. Those Arabs did leave on their own. Then there was a battle called Dir Yassin just after the death of an Arab commander who was a real terrorists. The rumors of this battle were exaggerated by all sides (British, Irgun, Hagana, Arabs) for different reasons and the Arabs ran away fearing that these exaggerations were real. In 1967 many Arabs "learned the lesson of 1948" meaning the Israeli were not going to hurt them and remained, while others left at their own accord. The fact that the Arabs left is not "something we tell ourselves" it is the reality of what happened.
