I’ve seen this movie 50 times maybe. Renee Zellweger is absolutely funny and adorable in this movie and both Colin Firth and Hugh Grant have some inspiring performances. My favorite romcom of all time

Colin said he was surprised when he heard Renee’s natural American accent, as she was so good as Bridget. At the time everyone thought Renee was going to be a disaster. Instead she was a triumph and everyone fell in love with her as Bridget. She was also very brave to put on weight, show her cellulite thighs, and make a fool of herself, all for Bridget. I still use that line ‘come the f on Bridget!’… 😂😂

I absolutely loved watching your enthusiasm level go up and up as this movie progressed. It really is something special to watch. Even the book's author would point to the screenwriter, Richard Curtis, as being the main reason everyone loves the movie. He basically took the Pride & Prejudice format and filled it with the contents of her book. Just like this movie, you probably know his work even if you haven't seen them... Notting Hill, Four Weddings & A Funeral, About Time. I hope you try checking them out if you want a smile on yer face throughout the viewing :)

Subbed! My feel good movies are: This one! Legally Blonde Planes, Trains and Automobiles. All-time favorites: Saving Grace (Brenda Blethyn, Craig Ferguson) Little Voice (Brenda Blethyn, Michael Caine, Jim broadbent, Ewen McGregor, Jane horricks). Plus, I love “Pride and Prejudice” 1995 Colin Firth version only. “Persuasion” Ciaran Hinds, Amanda Root. 1995. Another unknown but awesome Colin Firth movie is “Donovan Quick.” Sweet!!

I love this movie and have watched it many, many times. I don't know if you have ever watched them, but the actress that plays her friend Jude is the same actress who plays moaning Myrtle in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. She was in her 30s at the time and played a very convincing teen. I loved Cold Mountain as well. You should watch her in Down with Love with Ewen McGregor or Chicago with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere, and Queen Latifah. You get to hear her sing in both.

Shandor, Renee Zellweger, once she had the accent down, stayed in character between scenes. No reason why guys can’t enjoy a wee-written RomCom. Witness your reaction here. There are many other worthwhile films. NOTTING HILL is wonderful. Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts with a fantastic supporting cast. Good music, good dialog, good acting. And funny.
