I’m shocked that no one told you! But this is not just inspired by Pride and Prejudice) Colin Firth who is Mark Darcy here is actually Mr. Darcy in 1995 (the best) adaptation of Jane Austin’s book. He was born to be Darcy 🤗😌
@IslesYankeeLady6 ай бұрын
Have you read the book of Bridget Jones by Helen Fielding? Bridget crushes on Colin as Darcy by NAME. I always thought he was the best sport for agreeing to play Mark too. He knows we all love his Darcy forever. It’s upsetting though when people dismiss very good Darcy adaptations for not being as close to the book. There’s room for all of them. And note that not everyone will want to watch a 5 hour adaptation that gets quite slow at times, if we’re honest. There’s only 1 P&P that I really found too slow to watch, and that’s the 80s one. There is something to like in all the rest. I do love Colin as Darcy, but I’m willing to bet the average viewer doesn’t watch it all the way through every time. And, McFayden, Henderson, Ricamora, Olivier, Seale, Gordh, even Field and Cowan are excellent onscreen. I know there are even more, but those are my favs.

"Just keep trying and she'll eventually fall in love" is one of the worst movie tropes of all time and is a very bad message to send to people. If she doesn't want you, leave her alone guys! I had this happen to me. Someone was convinced I would change my mind because people kept encouraging him by saying that one day I would see what I was missing, etc. This "I'm a nice guy so I deserve a physical relationship with any woman I like" mentality is so toxic. That's how I ended up with a cyber stalker. Not fun. It's not okay guys. If she isn't interested do NOT keep trying. Do not try to emotionally manipulate someone by making them feel like they owe you something when they don't. Respect people's autonomy. Learn to deal with the fact that just because you want someone does not mean they will like you that way. Part of being an adult is dealing with that. That's all for me. Thanks for listening.

I always go for the content providers who are the most different than the movie in question. A black man seeing this very white Brit movie is perfect, as are your reactions, Billy. Rene is a fabulous actor. She got down not only the proper Brit accent for her class but the mannerisms and social cues. And she stayed in character on the set and off for the entire filming. At the wrap party she showed up talking in her native Texas accent and blew everyone away. Hugh Grant talked about how much she just flattened him. Compare this performance with Miss Potter and Chicago. So much respect for her talent and hard work.

Funny reaction to a so so rom com. You definitely made the movie more entertaining. BUT, if you want the OG of rom coms, you really should react to "When Harry Met Sally". The first and still best romantic comedy. Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan are perfect. No one else has reacted to this classic. Be the first. Totally worth it. Peace.

I love your reactions specially when you sing🎙️. This movie is an adaptation from the 1813 book "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austin. My favorite version is the 2005.

I chuckle every time watching Hugh Grant in this because it feels like it was a literal coin flip situation between him and Firth for the role of Daniel and Darcy. I first saw him in Notting Hill so i can't not hear him say "whoopsie daisy" XD

I’ve seen this movie a few times. I like the first one better than the other two (I usually like the first movie in every franchise the most). I love watching your reactions and just got into your movie commentary. I would love to see you react to Steel Magnolias or O Brother, Where Art Thou...they’re two pretty good movies :)

It’s honestly kinda hard to find a romcom with zero sexual harassment.

Billy, What like about your BillyBinges videos is that matter movie your subscribers recommend you always have fun it. You are very talented to make whatever you react to fun! Bridget Jones' diary is one of favorite movies. I have seen it a ton of times but it's fun to see it through your eyes! It would be great if you would react to Bridget Jones: Age of reason and Bridget Jones' baby! Thank you for your consideration!
