Hershel didn’t even put the walkers in the barn: that was Otis’s doing. Shane was wrong in this particular instance. He was giving Hershel crap for Sophia being in the barn. Also, Hershel’s views on walkers had nothing to do with this scene.

Hell no. He was wrong as fuck here. Opening the barn, even that i can agree on but what was he gonna do? Attack the owner of the property who let you stay and take over? Not even Rick did that, YEARS into the apocalypse with Alexandria. The fact of the matter is, at this point in the apocalypse, most people were desperately trying to hold onto humanity. Shane had let it go as soon as he realized he couldn't have Lori and Carl.

But he ended up getting killed because he just couldn't accept the fact that Lori was NEVER gonna be his woman, seriously though she didn't even want him, so he pretty much was fighting for nothing, and if he wanted a woman so bad why didn't he just get with Andrea, remember they had sex in the car in that one episode, so Shane did a lot of good things, but him being a hothead ended up being too much for the group and it cost him his life🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

If only Shane wasn’t so aggressive and hotheaded about everything, and more importantly if he wasn’t obsessed with Lori, imagine how great he’d be for their group. He could’ve been an important member of the group in the future. He got the idea quicker than everyone else did, but eventually everyone understood the world they were living in. By season 5 they’re completely adjusted to the world like Shane was from the beginning.
