Underrated wrestling mind. I always respected guys like Paul London who are vocal about Shane being someone whose work is worth studying. Dude was great in ECW. A true heat magnet amongst the "smartest" crowd/fanbase in the world at that time. That is something that's no easy feat.

I went through the exact same thing with Oxycontin as Shane did. I have never heard someone explain it better. That's exactly what it's like. Fortunately, the 12 step program worked for me and still does. When I struggled with the idea of a Higher Power, I used Karma as mine. I didn't want to keep putting shit out into the universe because I would just keep getting shit back.

Awesome interview, what he says about the young bucks is spot on, I shouldn't be wincing more at their mess ups than I am watching an ECW match

Never saw the guy work contemporaneously to when I was watching real-time (1996-2001), but I feel like I definitely missed out. He's so insightful and articulate, and gets what the audience wants to hear, and is capable of modeling the mind of the audience and adjusting his vocabulary accordingly. Most interviewees don't understand the audience as deeply as Shane does. In another life, he would've been a brilliant professor/lecturer in an academic setting. I am definitely going to go down the rabbit hole of his best matches. Recommendations from fellow fans welcomed.

I’m getting to this video ~6mo late but I found this to be one of your best interviews. I appreciate that you have some banter but give the wrestlers air/space to dive deep into stories; which leads to more details to stories we might have heard a few times. The Franchise’s Opioid struggle is important to share. I’ve always been a fan of his, but wasn’t super aware of how he was let go from TNA. Cheers from Chicago.

shane is pretty damn intelligent. i just thought he was a jackass... goes to show you how smart he really is. he has done a great job over the years and i feel his transparency is great for the current business. hes super cordial and a respectful man, id be honored if i had him in my ear growing in the business. i really appreciate everything hes saying about opioid abuse. i abused oxycotin 80 mgs 15-19 was off until my late 20s and got hooked to fentanyl. ive been through it too. its rough but what shane said about getting clean from opioids is 100% you gotta do it for yourself. i use to do about 30-50 pills a day, ive gotten down to about 2 a day almost 2 years of work, he has reassured me that im doing it and im gonna succeed. thank you so much.

Much like Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, in every one of these shoot interviews, every one as positive stories of the late Owen Hart. Shane Douglas would perfect Trainer/Coach and EVP for Major League Wrestling. Shane Douglas would only help enhance Court Bauer's promotion.

Funny thing about the Kronk gym shirt. I’ve rarely seen them in public and have lived in the Detroit area my whole life. Those shirts were a bigger deal abroad.

Kronk! Wear mine all the time. Wore the one I got from Emanuel himself out long ago though. Now Sugar Hill is keeping it going and Tyson Fury Kronk style beat downs of Wilder has made it popular again. it was always a great brand though and should always remain so. Andy Lee popping it too. Watched his fight in Novi live in one of the last pure Kronk shows Manny ever did. Lee and Tony Harrison were the main bouts. Andy should have an excellent 2nd training career. Learned and lived with the best just like Sugar Hill did. Awesome shirt.

A great guy, especially with new or younger talent. Always has time for a newbie and always makes you feel welcome. I personally think Shane was just too smart and outspoken for the politics in pro wrestling. Its tough to be a top guy in a hip promotion then move to the open sea of predators like WCW in 1999. Shane is old school in the change over period where non wrestling people gained power.

As someone who conducted interviews, I appreciate your ability to correct people when their stories are off on dates without killing the flow. That can be tough. 17:50 had no idea Johnny Ace had prior corporate experience. That makes a lot of sense. 28:00 - Sid and Johnny Ace stories that were new to me. 56:00 Gorilla Monsoon trying to get an extra $5k out of a school board that had put on a WWF show

Brian Higgins who wrote all of Girls Aloud's hits and many others, in his songwriting team he has two girls he regularly sends to London to hear what the latest buzz/slang words are so he can incorporate them into his songs (I'm referring to the possible Jim Herd study, sounds crazy but people do it)

1:34:05 idk Scott Hall and I never will but I have seen 100s of shoots about him, positive and negative, and there’s no way he said “Hey Franchise, how you doing?” Scott Hall calls you your gimmick ECW name after shitting on you as Dean Douglas? One thing you hear about Scott Hall whether you love him or hate him is he knew how to fuck with people.

Shane taking Sixty Oxy a Day is like another level heh. I mean nobody is going to have withdrawal to that level unless they go past sanity. How he even survived that is the real Miracle Worker. Vicodin tends to be more abused where drinking or don't need it. One works better with Physical type pain while another Nerve. Though that Oxy gets to where need it just to feel normal mood. Even if don't feel euphoria its had to stop compared to others. This is Great to hear his Scott Hall story. Mention Sabu. The Johnny Ace Dynamic Dudes. Ric Rude I was always a fan of him. Though WCW had the money back then over WWF. Funny he stuck with the blond hair when had never dyed before ;). He realistic about doing moves like Big E. I got some of those Wrestling Figures. I wish I had gotten entire collection as had no idea it didn't have likeness rights. I know I got SAbu along with RVD a few others hehe. The Doomed Generation :).

I was hooked on Oxy until I went to a doctor and got Suboxone about 5 years ago. Some may my consider that being sober, but it stabilized my life and I’m not devoting large periods of time trying and needing to score Hope you are well, take care

@@YoureNotReet Thanks I'm an Organic Vegetarian so to me everybody is a User or Addict. Getting hooked on another drug that has no benefits or euphoria is not really an ideal solution or answer. I don't experience the euphoria. I'm not well as in a lot of physical pain. That wont get better as MRIs show a few things related to neck and brain. I don't know how bad my back is but I think that is why I"m having issues. Neurologist claims its Anxiety which boggles me. HOw can I have spasms even in my sleep to point I have to stop by pillows? Even when I feel fine or not upset. Eye is acting up a bit which can be nerve or muscle thing. I got shafted on SSD. I think Vaping helps to a degree depending on the strain. People don't like me even on here I'll see like everybody else get a heart. I got bullied by a bunch or ganged up on from The Hockey Guy then he mooted me. I often think I'm invisible or nobody can see me. I'm not well liked but least Knights my 2nd Favorite Hockey team on Verge of Stanley Cup ;). Though getting or buying Champion Gear is lot of anxiety. My issues are with doctors not giving me valium or medications over using them too much :). Instead of giving me Valium less than 2 months after operation to stop my spasms. They sent 10 cops to my home or more with armored vehicle to take me away to wacko ward. So I have nothing but contempt for medical along with legal system. If I could think of or settle on way I think I'd end things. AS I realize my situation is hopeless like when held together stuck between two trains kinda thing. I can't really work or do things or get compensated for that. Government blames the lawyer while the Lawyer blames them :). I never got a fair trial so I hope the country crumbles into Anarchy so I can get Revenge ;). If people liked me or my content maybe it would matter. I realize I'm not liked or wanted in this world though. I probably have like 100s of pills if I wanted to take them :). I regret I wake up as nothing goes right for me even Air Purifier wont turn back on. TV I got don't work but they wont fix or repair it etc. So I can't even watch TV with Hound Daze Haze in room. I don't think I could OD but I've known a few who did. They had a lot more going for them than I do. I just hope I'll have a massive stroke or heart attack :).

Albanese , highly connected in that area. All the way down to Tony Pro. Look it up. I'm bet Albanese was nice and tipped Gorilla. I think Gorilla was italian from NJ, who knows. That carny shit wouldn't roll with a guy like Albanese. These guys controlled the teamsters and dealt with way bigger deals then wrestling carny antics.

Wait....so she called you down there, had you tell your story about overcoming addiction... and then fired you? Am i understanding that right? Firing you would be bad enough...possibly even understanding depending on the details... but to have you tell your story, presumably unpaid, and then let you go, to me seems insane.

Hey bro...i respect the hell out of you... but i can't believe you took 50 80mg oxy a day I'm really sorry. I don't think you're lying nearly as much as that you're just mistaken on the milligrams in each pill. I wish i could man but now that i think about it honestly idc much about the amount im just happy you found your way.
