The only time I was on India's side was when she was misgendered in one of the first episodes but there were apologies and they moved on. However, since then she has: 1) compared drag queens to blackface 2) pretended to have a drag phobia when she happily made selfies with (more outrageous looking) drag queens before entering the house 3) sexually harassed Ginuwine 4) tried to police Ginuwine's dating preferences and make him out to be transphobic 5) claimed that LGBT hasn't fought for her or trans community as a whole

That's right. Shane/Courtney is very calm and polite, he helps everyone to understand the questions of gender that are going on in the house right. On the other hand, if you want to learn something about trans people with India, you have to be careful to not say the wrong thing, otherwise she won't understand that you're trying to learn (that's why u asking lol) and gonna jump in your face screaming and getting offended.

Gay guy here: Straight men flirt with and tease gay men all the time because they know it will be received for what it is: Harmless fun/jokes. Also because they love the ego boost of a flirt. There is no jeopardy in it. The same isn't true with transwomen, or any women for that matter, so men have to be careful. Also, if we are being honest, how many straight men would want people to think they're attracted to a transwoman? Like 1%... It's obvious why they don't flirt with them.

Ah. India brought me here tbh. Shane Lynch kept me here. I'm definitely going to catch up on this series. Especially this cast. Steven Gately was a member of Boyzone, who was gay in Catholic Ireland. I'm sure Shane has some great insights and strikes me as white open. I want to articulate what he's saying a bit better (with all due respect) because I agree with it totally. Not allowing discussion because of defensiveness stops discussion. We want to be accepting and open. But to do that. Trans people need to be on our side when we say that biology can't be changed. Maybe someday but I don't think we should be experimenting on children now. It's everywhere. Why? It's totally piggy backed marriage equality. I believe it is being fed to us via America. I feel like every trans woman goes through this victim mindset but eventually, it goes when you realise most people don't care about you're gender identity. They only care about you're personality, demeanor and your values as a person. I went through this before I started my hormones but I'm slowly finding my confidence as a woman. I still have gender dysphoria but I'm becoming more comfortable. Also India needs to realise there are plenty of men who want to date and love trans women regardless of our connection to the LGBT community. I've been in a happy relationship with a cis guy for 4 years but I know if we ever brake up (God forbid ) I could find a man , you just need to be chill.

Can you honestly blame men for not being attracted to trans women? Not taking the claims of being genuinely women away, but the fact is they have all the subtle quirks of a man's body, things men notice without even realising it. There are plenty of trans women that are attractive in their own right, but a lot of trans people are just so obviously trans that straight men are so consciously aware of it, and you can't blame them for that.

While I've really disliked India in this series and her attitude which made her attack everyone as if no one could get it right to even talk to her, I want to play devils advocate. India is 51 years old, she only started to transition in the last decade meaning she lived at least 40 years of her life in the wrong body. When she was in her 20s, there was a HUGE stigma against trans people in Britain. It was still seen that a man in women's clothing was a pervert. She didn't get to be herself until much later in life. She lived her youth in men's clothes with a mans haircut and hiding exactly who she was. Now she's older, she's transitioned which is incredibly brave of her after a lifetime of people saying trans people didn't deserve rights! She's now an older woman who wants to be who she is inside, and yes, she's very sensitive, but perhaps it's because she's used to being defensive because before she had to be, in the 80s and 90s when she was young she would have been attacked by so many people if she had come out to live like this. Now she sees Shane J, a beautiful drag Queen, someone so young yet so confident to be who he is without any fear of rejection. And everyone compliments him and says he's a better looking woman than most women. Of course India is wrong to be jealous or angry, but perhaps it's just a lifetime of hatred she's seen towards the person she has become.

This is why it's bad to teach children they can have wonderful lives as trans people because it's not true and it will hit them so hard. I know a trans woman and her life is hell. People spit and throw stuff at her from moving cars everytime she leaves the house in England. She's 40 and has never dated anyone. Customers refuse to deal with her. Pubs go completely silent when she enters. If they don't pass people are so cruel to them and I wouldn't want my child to go through that, if would be awful for them and anyone who cares about them too. I would definitely discourage it.
