What a great turnout you had at the book signing. Thank you for sharing the story of Jerika, I feel the media focuses on negative that can be damaging for others living with disability. It's a sad story where she resulted in making a very hard choice and for family and friends as well. You sharing your story gives hope to others and not result to ending their life. Keep soaring and it's awesome and inspiring to see you both. Sending love to you both❣

Congratulations on your newest book Shane! Thank you for what you said about our quality of life. I just learned about Jerika from watching your video. It always breaks my heart when the media and some of the public treat these stories as if our lives don't have the same worth and quality as those not living with disabilities. It takes far more dignity to embrace living no matter how challenging it may be, than taking that other tragic route. Thanking you for showing the world how valuable and precious all of our lives are. I know my life is awesome, challenges and all because God blesses me through it all. Take care you guys!

man you guys packed the fans in to the book store. its so wonderful to know you are reaching people with your books. it will get the message out that disabled people are just people. people who do things differently than most but hey we can learn new ideas on how to live from these people and maybe enrich our own lives from seeing videos from them. i think they have more on the ball than we do since they have to be genius about doing things we take for granted

Got really excited because my library had said there was a 2 week wait for Shane’s book. It arrived in my inbox, so downloaded it, as we are going away for a long weekend, I found out it is Laughing at my nightmare!🦗🐞🦟🐛🐍🐜🕷 I’m sure it will be just as ‘good’ and then the new book will be arriving just in time for finishing LamN. I am two weeks into recovery from a nasty spider bite (of course, the only thing vernmous in New Zealand). It had come in on my washing and bit me on outside of my armpit, then got into my lymph glands, downhill from there. By the looks of the dead spider I found in my bed, it is not a poisonous one but still has a lot of nasty bacteria in its body. Shane, wait until a palmetto bug crawls up your leg! I recognise the young woman at the start of your talk, she also has told her story to SBSK?

I remember when I heard one of my friend had a bad accident through a mutual friend of ours. She had already visited him in the hospital and I was afraid to go and see him. He was skateboarding and fell and broke his back. He told me later he knew when he fell he heard a crack and that he knew he was paralyzed. The hospital he was at was where my dad passed away from high blood pressure when he was 45 and I was 15. My friends accident happened maybe a decade later however the memory was still there of my dad. When I was ready to visit him, I called the hospital to find out what room he was in and by then he was already gone. I felt bad I missed that opportunity to see him. A few years passed by and I found him on Facebook and we caught up. I was worried how I would react or would it be weird now seeing him in a wheelchair. I tried not to show my fear and he actually made it comfortable. Maybe it was because we talked via messenger and he told me how his accident happened and how he was okay and still doing the things he enjoyed in life. Being in a band, travelling etc. It's I think a lot to do with fear of not knowing how to act or say around ppl with disability. Thank you Shane and Hannah for inviting us in and educating us and showing how life is still wonderful for ppl with disability. Wishing you two all the best as your wedding day comes closer each day.
