What I'd really like to know is why my faulty door doesn't stay locked. For example, if I push the pin in and turn the outside handle the pin pops out. Is there a way to fix this or should it be replaced?

Thanks - mine involved screwing clockwise with a flat head screwdriver, but worked quickly once I’d worked it out.

Well I came for advice, it didn't help but you did remind me that their is another way to opening locked doors. Shimmy a flat object along the frame of the door and wall till you can use the flat object to act as a block between the two and just push the door open. It worked and now I can take a well needed poop. Thanks man. Please like this comment so others that this may help will know about it.

I used a flat object and shimmied it along the wall and door till it pushed back the small thing that holds the door closed. I noticed that they are not all solid and some are curved so it worked for me. Hope this helps, just got in to my bathroom at work 😓 I was gonna die if I didn't. My coworkers forgot the keys inside.
