Many years ago, my late hubby & I had a painting company. But no internet! I certainly would have put most of these tips to use. I still love to paint, so I can work them into my 'at home' projects. Thanks! Great tips!

Mate, you haven't seen me after a day on the brush lol. Yeah the paint booth is really effective. You find yourself hunting around the house looking for something to paint :-) Cheers mate

You are quite clever Shane. Its fun to watch you work it all comes so natural to you it seems. I am shit with all things involving wood, but I can fix nearly anything mechanical or electrical. So I am always in awe of people who can build things like you do.

Boneshaker Thanks Boneshaker. Appreciate the comment mate. When it comes to anything electrical or mechanical l am totally useless :-) I suppose we all have our "own thing" Cheers :-)

Thanks for the awesome tips. I have one for the sequel: If you stretch a rubberband vertically around your painter's pot/paint can, you can use it to wipe excess paint off your brush. Loving the vids.. thanks mate.

Here is a painting tip that you can share with your viewers. My father taught me this decades ago. When painting a window of mirror, pour cooking oil (or olive oil, baby oil whatever) onto the glass and spread it out right to the edge. Do not worry about getting paint on the glass. When paint is dry a razor blade removes the paint and oil. Clean glass with SprayNine or dish detergent and water. Last year I painted both sides of a French door. This tip saved a lot of work.

Good job mate. Just an idea, pond liner would work well for inside the planter, especially if you have some scrap bits knocking about, I've used it for similar projects, could fix it in under the capping

Thanks David. You've got me curious now…the clothes line tip??? You can't leave me hangin'. What is it?
@davidharris817110 жыл бұрын
Clip all your pieces to a line strung across the yard. It allows full access to whatever you paint. The sun makes a great dryer to boot.

love ya enthusiasm mate !! Question ! when painting trim, do you use oil based, or acrylic ?
@diyforknuckleheads10 жыл бұрын
Mate, personally l always paint trim in oil based. The finish is far superior and easier to apply. The only disadvantage is that it takes a little longer to clean up. Cheers mate.

Thanks for the microwave tape tip, never heard of that before. What kind of bird is that in the back ground sound?
@diyforknuckleheads10 жыл бұрын
It's a Magpie. They're a black and white bird. They make a beautiful sound but get really protective in the spring when nesting and tend to swoop a lot. Cheers mate
@NarrowGauge110 жыл бұрын
The main bird sound is that of a Magpie ... one of the Australian carollers.
