Shane , you sir are a formidable instructor. Even most who carry the knowledge are terrible at relaying the info nor do they have the very comfortable friendly vibe that you bare which surely only helps the learning curve. Thank you for posting all these videos. I do not operate a motorcycle , merely a 2 stroke bicycle but the information is well worthy for me as I am mechanically stupid and have finally this late in life decided to tackle it on my own.

I'm in the process of tearing down the carb, rebuilding the top end and disassembling the power valve and removing the carbon deposits while I'm at it, all in the span of a week... on my own... for the first time ever and I've learned more about my cr125 than in these vids.

I'm not aware of a company selling an engine except in outdoor power equipment. If you want and engine and trans then you would have to buy a motorcycle and take all you need for your project. I found an 03 RM 250 clean and all together. The guy said he got it on a trade and the top end and valves were bad but it turns over. just being easy making sure that it's not seized up. The bike is nice and new tires needs minor things. He wants 250 for it. I won't touch it without a title or bill of sale. Is it worth it? I mean I can do the top end but what if it has problems with the bottom end? Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I've recently got it back together again and it lives once again! very nice bike and runs perfect. I did run into a few minor things to do but no issues. I had my daughter do most of the work and she is 13 .i want her to be independent and able to do it herself as well as great bonding time.
