The Changes to Abomination could just be that he hadn't finished transforming before the end of Incredible Hulk, we never saw the full transformation of Sterns into Leader. Blonsky could have continued to mutate over the years following the movie

Like, Abomination's fight with Hulk took less than hour after he transformed so they can just say that due to unstable nature of serum that Emil was given he kept changing over time (he had 10+ years to do that).

I think the most simple reason for Abomination's change is that essentially, the way he looked in The Incredible Hulk was him still in transition. He had exposed bones and not just spikes. In a word, he wasn't done cooking. Over the years he finished his evolution and stabilized. Perhaps both physically and mentally.

Am I the only one that noticed that Banners arm, even though still in a Sling, is looking a lot better? You can visibly see the damage on Hulks arm/hand but Banner doesn't have a fried arm/hand. I believe it'll return to normal. The snap was so powerful that instead of a few days to heal, it's taking years. Brace yourselves, a badass form of Hulk is on his way...

Hulk has one of the best regenerative powers so yeah I think it’s healing slowing as Banner as Hulk and what we saw was just astral projection at the end to have the conversation but Banner is actually till the Hulk.

I think the real reason for normal Banner is money. I'm guessing they tagged on the stinger late in the process of filming and when they looked at how much it would be to animate hulk before the film's release versus just shooting Ruffalo in a sling they saved some money.

I think abomination has simply just been stuck in his hulk body for ages and he has just evolved more, like his in Thor 3 Bruce was stuck as the hulk for years and the hulk became more and more intelligent in that time so maybe it’s literally just he’s been in that form for a very long time

One thing I did notice with Wong and Abomination, when they were leaving, the background was with a Hulk prison. You know, from the first Avengers movie, where they imprisoned Loki. So it might actually be in a Heli-Carrier.

Could Wong be training the Thunderbolts? I feel like there is a vacuum of heroes (Wanda, Strange, Vision, Cap, Thor, Tony, etc), so maybe it is a classic "lesser of two evils"; the Thunderbolts and Ross aren't really great people, but there isn't really an alternative right now.

I think the reason Hulk and Abomination keep changing and gaining more "human" awareness or intelligence, is because they grow with time. During their first transformation, they both were very wild and uncontrolled, because they were still toddlers, with time, they gain the ability to communicate, to speak words and then full sentences etc.

I kinda dig that idea, like, he evolves to best suit his environment. That'd be a nifty way to change the character in the future as well... give em a terminator moment, where he falls into lava to save a teammate. Everyone thinks he's dead, then boom, like 4 movies later he comes back all f4-thing looking after adapting to the molten environment. A power like that would be a cool way to differentiate him from hulk.

Remember that the hulk is a separate entity from bruce with it's own conciousness and he can only grow or age when hes in hulk form, that's why he barely talk in ragnarok, blonsky and abomination are one and the same and has had alot more time to grow and change than the hulk has

The whole variant thing actually doesn't really make too much sense. When he said an evolution through time he literally could just mean that he evolved over time and eventually turned into what he looked like in shang-chi. For wong, it could be that he is there to help mellow abomination out to be less aggressive which seems to be working so that eventually he can be a part of the Thunderbolts but long might not even know about that and might just think he's helping out someone.

On a side note, do you think Hawkeye's time as Ronin indirectly aided in Sharon Carter's and Xialing's meteoric rise in the underworld? Post snap Clint going Punisher on known entities in the underworld throughout the world would have increased the power vacumn sparked by the snap. Sharon and Xialing would have found a lot more opportunities to expand as Ronin executed crime bosses.

Wouldn't it make more sense that the original Hulk film was just a variant timeline since it also featured Norton playing Bruce Banner? Essentially the MCU we know today had Ruffalo going through the same events of that film and we just didn't see it. The Loki series hinted that those types of timelines exist and are fairly common.

I think that Abomination will be MCU's version of Red Hulk. Studio probably concluded that Ross was too old to be an action hero and kept him as team menager while Blonsky will be the muscle. Also they might consider Red Hulk's design to be to simmilar, just re-color of Bruce Banner.

Abomination's appearance is easier to explain than all that. His fin upgrades are just continuations of his reaction to his second serum. The serum kept messing with his body over the last... What, 16 years? Hulk was 2008 and MCU is what, 2024 right now after the 5 year jump in Endgame?

Is it possible that the post-scene credits scene with Dr. Bruce Banner could be an astral projection of his true self? Look at how the Ancient one did him in Avengers: Endgame. I'm certain that they're at the Sanctum Sanctorum in that scene and that would make a lot of sense if that were the case. (Smart Hulk was on the roof of the Sanctorum in Endgame when the projection happened.)
