I went to CSUDH with Carmelita; she was straight up, a driven, hard worker. Look at her posture - she is sitting straight up - she is lifting her knees up so high, like Carl Lewis, or Donovan Bailey. None of the women in that race have anywhere near the lift, and hence, the stride. Her mechanics are stunning. She coached at one of our local high schools. The girl is smart. She understands completely what her body is supposed to be doing to execute at maximal efficiency and performance.

@wfuspoloprince Bolt's 10.03 was his FIRST professional 100m ever. Who else can say on their first try they run a world class time? Also he ran a 19.93 200m at only 17 years of age. So Bolt going sub 10 shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's been following track for more than 3 years. I know the 100 and 200 are two completely different races but seriously, Bolt has been a record breaker since he was a teenager. There is a HUGE difference between his progression in Jeter.
@BDQ197515 жыл бұрын
He also coached Danny Everett who was the bronze medalist in the same Olympics. Both man ran under 44 seconds. Greene was never tested for drugs and if you watch Greene body structure throughout his career, it doesn't change from 1997 to 2005. Also, Ato was trained by Smith during his college career at UCLA, Greene came after, so if there was any doping by Greene, which I doubt, Ato would of know, but, he only acted innocent to the media to save his job as a track analyst in the US.
@CHEETAH6913 жыл бұрын
after reading some comments, I have to make a case for the importance of changing one's technique. I trained for 3 years with one coach. I switched coaches and within 8 months, I dropped .38 from my 100, 1.3 seconds from my 200 and 2.5 whole seconds from my 400. I must add that I included a lot more weight training. But my running style COMPLETELY changed and I was a totally different runner. I'm not saying Jeter is clean. I'm just asking that you not ignore the significance of technique.

@Nickyelunico Good description. But NO ONE re-accelerates at the end of the race. Acceleration is continued until about 60 m. Everything after that is simply holding on or decelerating the least. Jeter, Bolt, Flojo or Gay tend to win (or won) because they basically slow down the least.
@CHEETAH694 жыл бұрын

@TheAngeltoDemon I can't say whether or not Jeter is clean. And I'm certain some on the circuit have their suspicions. But Jeter was perpetually hurt before. She didn't weight train nearly as much and she says her mental approach to running was screwed up. I think it's possible to address each of those things, in addition to a change in technique and then transform a runner from a so-so sprinter into a world class one. I think also John Smith is too smart to risk a positive test.

@MrFlexybee Thats stupid... You don't suppose the gold medalists are making money off of endorsements after an Olympic medal? Furthermore money comes and goes. A medal is something you take with you for years to come. An Olympic medal is like the light at the end of the tunnel after all your hard work. No amount of money can ever replace that kind of satisfaction, and if you ask any other track runner the majority will be sure to tell you that..

That said, it was supergreat to see the 4x100 be broken to get rid of a DDR record, thumbs up to the American girls.

you're right. but it's the climate we're in now. it happened to Bolt last year. every time an athlete does an amazing thing in track and field, suspicion and doubt will follow them. I don't know what Jeter is doing - if she's doing anything. But I want to believe that she just worked her ass off and that finally, at 29, everything is coming together to help her peak perfectly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If it turns out she's cheating, it'll suck-big time.

@Bajinjo Who says it's impossible? I think the problem that many people encounter is that they interject their own ideas of what's possible and not. How does one explain Ottey's career spanning nearly 30 years, with the last 10 being the most impressive? The human body is a truly fascinating thing. Let go of what you've told is possible. (now of course if it's found that she was cheating, I will sadly have to eat this keyboard)

well according to the World Track and Field Records committee i just checked they threw out Flo-Jo's record (10.49) as they think it was wind aided an see the Record as 10.61 which would give a chance to Jeter if she runs with legal wind conditions!
@wavz9014 жыл бұрын
@wfuspoloprince those were monumental drops yes but why hasnt jeter run under 10.80 cosistently since then and two tenths of a second is monumental in 100m sprints. Next Bolt is on an upward peak and has never run 100m at the youth level so you would expect that from someone who is 20-23 jeter is 30 -__- 10.64

@ilove9ff who knows it? IAAF doesn't seem to know it. what proof do you have? She had a stellar 3 weeks (10.67, 10.64, and 10.83 against a STRONG STRONG win). Nothing shows drugs. Just spectacular peaking by an amazing coach, John Smith.

the record is 10.49. it's recognized as such. all the "experts" screaming about the wind that day are clearly being invalidated. there very well could have been a huge wind that day. the point is, the record doesn't speak to that.

Also Ottey was consistent her whole career.she did not come into prominence in her 30s or nesaring it.she has been performing and winning medals since she step on the big stage.I don't recal her not medaling in an olympic or wc or not making one,apart from when she was fighting drug accusations.

damn her physique is unbelievable for a girl!
@Heretolaughhh15 жыл бұрын
to all the idiots, she's had the same muscle mass all year, she ran that 10.83 shutting it down in the last 30 meters or so.. so of course we were eventually see greatness out of her.. and when you get a monster start and have top end speed, you'll get amazing times!!

@stevie586 Yes. I agree...just watch the knee lift.

male sprinters can learn a thing or two from Jeter the Jet! I learned to run with high knee lifts from her, and an efficient drive phase!! she is the truth, I expect her to run a 10.45 by the time she's done with track and field
@HotMessMemories15 жыл бұрын
10.46 is a world record! Congrats.🎊

What are you talking about? No one ran 10.46.

@trypticon101 Championships are the whole point of crowning the champion. That's like saying the team with the best record in the regular season of the NFL are the champions even if they get knocked out in the first round of the playoffs. At the end of the day, people remember Olympic and world champions more than they do the person who ran the fastest in one particular season. Who do you think will be remebered more Carl Lewis or Leroy Burrell? Lmao.
