Any chance that Shanks isn't actually a Celestial Dragon? Like he doesn't look like Garling at all. His hair is way too different. I assume that God Valley was in the Grand Line (which might not be true), and Shanks was born in the West Blue which doesn't make much sense. There is however another notorious pirate, born the same year as Shanks in the Grand Line. A pirate that was also raised by the Pirate King, and who also has crazy styled hair like Garling. I think Buggy is the actual lost Figarland child that went missing on God Valley. Shanks just takes advantage of this and masquerades as a Celestial Dragon.

Cause some dumb fans still don't know difference beetween swordsman and character using a sword in one piece. People like whitebeard, big mom, law, kizaru,etc only uses sword to channel their df, their biggest strength is their df and haki ofc. People like shanks, mihawk, zoro, Cavendish, rayleigh, roger, T-bone, etc. are swordsmen cause their power is directly linked to their swordsman ship ( haki included ofc ) and their biggest strength is their sword. Some probably disregarded theories on Shanks being a Celestial Dragon once they learned how Doflamingo and his family was treated by them after Homing decided to leave Mary Geoise in that they left them to die when Homing begged them to at least take his children in for their safety. There has been a theory on Shanks having a twin brother and this twin is the one who met with the elders and the reason for the cloak is to hide from readers/watchers is to hide that he isn't Shanks as the cloak conveniently hides his arm and even his feet and we don't even see the side of his face with his trademark scars. If it was Shanks, why not show the side of his face with his scars? Almost every image of Shanks that is from the side is always the side with his scars being visible to us. But that time in the meeting with the elders, his scars weren't visible. Coincidence? Seems like Oda could've pulled the wool over our eyes in that and most were focused on 'who was Shanks discussing with the elders?' or 'is Shanks a celestial dragon?' or 'just how much influence does Shanks have?!'. Power is about more than physical strength, influence could be part of Shanks' power as an emperor as we've seen with the others. But Shanks is the only one to supposedly show influence with the elders. It's possible he was wearing the cloak for discretion as a courtesy to the elders who allowed the meeting peacefully but what if it was to hide the man from us the readers & watchers? Maybe it was obviously not Shanks if not for the cloak? And the silhouettes of God's Knights, perhaps if this twin exists, he's in that group as some suspect. I also wonder if the Figarland's make up the entirety of God's Knights. We don't know enough about Celestial Dragon culture so maybe each family has its role as the five elders do? Since the meeting with the Gorosei, I have had this doubt in my head that the red-haired person they met with was NOT Shanks!.. but it is his twin brother (probably the main silhouette of the God knights shown with the sword). It made me think this way for two reasons: 1. They didn't show his scar there. (I believe on purpose). And 2. He was wearing that black cape that didn't show us his amputated arm (I believe they hid it on purpose, too). I think that Shanks got his face cut by Blackbeard. He used to use a claw on his hand. Also the fact that Shanks didn't sense the attack has something to do with Teach being 3 people in one, so while Shanks was aware of one persona, Teach was able to reach him by switching personas in an instant and avoid Shanks observation haki. i find it interesting that the chapter had written "former "king" of god valley", as if he wasn't like an official king, but maybe more of a self proclaimed ruler, just like dofi was the "king" of dressrosa. i dont mind getting new big stuff all the time, but i cant help but feel like its about time we should also start to get some answers, feels like oda just adds more and more questions to the story without actually answering any. like the previous chapter where its revealed the nefertaris have the D., i mean its an interesting new fact, but its also kinda like a "who asked?" moment for me and the relevance is still in question. maybe that's the reason the higher ups hate the D., but it still doesnt explain what the letter stands for and if lili leaving the holy land is the reason all this void century and erasing history and such is all about, that would be pretty lame. so again, still juts more questions.

Garling isn't shown in the silhouette because he's not an active combatant. Like with Kong. If we had got silhoettes of the admirals, it probably wouldn't have included Sengoku or Kong. Now about Shanks twin. I think its a stupid theory. I think it really was Shanks talking to the Gorosei as a Figarland, and potentially as one of God's Knights. I think Shanks is so strong, that we can't see him being manipulated into serving the Celestials. But we already have a parallel for this in the story. Judge was able to control Sanji, because even though Sanji is strong, there are still things he can't protect in this world. Now what pirate did Shanks want to talk to them about? What is the wildest change that happened during timeskip? Buggy becoming warlord. IMO Shanks wanted to protect Buggy by getting him accepted into the Warlords program. He saw that Buggy was in way over his head, and wanted to use his position to pay buggy back for saving Luffy. IMO God's Knights are spread across the world, except for Garling who stays at Marie Jois. They are only mobilized once someone threatens the Holy Land. Garling settles disputes with other celestials while the rest are deep undercover in the world below, acting as a personal intelligence network for Imu. Thus Shanks duties as a God's Knight don't interfere with his life as a pirate. Roger told Shanks that he's a Figarland, and that his father would eventually track him down and force him to become a God's Knight. That's why he cried, and that's why he gave up the One Piece for so long. He didn't want to claim the title of Pirate King while being under the thumb of the Celestials. It would be fake. Hollow. He would be a King in name only. Take note of the fact that the chapter where Shanks decides to go after the One Piece is the same chapter where the events of the Reverie are published in the very same newspaper that Shanks was holding while looking at Luffy's bounty. Most people probably assumed that his reasoning had to do with Luffy's transformation, and that may be part of it, but I think Shanks is planning to join up with the revolutionaries to take down the celestials, thus freeing himself, so he can finally pursue the title of Pirate King.
