I was deep in despair and thought about ending things. I came upon a book called the philoklia in a second hand book store..opened the book my life was changed for ever. This prayer saved my life...so few words...so powerful.

If you still feel this way or ever do again I would encourage you to find a priest or someone you can talk to. Sometimes problems doing go away even if we feel that they do for a while. In any case, I hope you are walking on a path way God now.

I have a 33 knot prayer rope that I just received. When I use it to do the Jesus prayer I go into some sort of a trance state or a meditative state. I have meditated since I was 12 so I think that's what's happening and I hope it's not something bad

@@teodoracazacu4023 I had a Catholic priest tell me that meditation is the highest form of prayer so I'm glad to hear it from someone else. :-)
@ExVeritateLibertas2 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethshaw734 Catholics do view prayer this way so I am not surprised what the Catholic priest told you. In the Orthodox Church it is not encouraged to "meditate" or indeed to attempt to visualize anything during prayer, as this can lead one into various temptations. There is a lot of literature on the subject by the Holy Fathers of which I am not an expert unfortunately. But I can tell you if you are still praying this way it is not encouraged by the Orthodox tradition.

I read one of your books years ago and really liked it. I like listening to you talk also, but when you fall into the woke, climate change jingo, you lose me entirely. The problem with "climate" change and saving the world is it is not really about saving the environment, it is about power to the few and hardship to the rest of us. I hate to see Christians fall into the trap.

Jesus is the only way to heaven and if you don't believe or except him as Lord then Hell will be your home.
@Razamaniac8 жыл бұрын
it needs action yes ?
@aahlstrom937 жыл бұрын
That's true, Raza. In Matthew 7:21-23 shows that even though many will claim they believe in Him and tried to do good people they ultimately did not pass. You can not believe in Jesus and rape and murder villages... that would make your faith invalid.
@svarog81267 жыл бұрын
Hell is only feared by those who believe, therefore it is a type of paradox. So trying to fear people into believing is pointless
@Mark-yb1sp3 жыл бұрын
Wow, Jeff, that was a great way to draw people to Christ. 🙄. Not. If a person doesn’t understand the joy of Jesus, they don’t understand the horrors of Hell. Learn to shape your invitation to Christ that isn’t an immediate turn off.
