Cool *performance-Demo of legit ℹ️ 'Shaolin' forms. This was beside 'O2arena' during 'SENi2014' eVent. Greenwich 🇬🇧., I was *busy ⌚🤔., *sets wi 'Bob Breen' & 'Defence Lab' 👨🏻🏫💪👊 atm. Strong 📈📹 !! 😎
In old times Shaolin wasn't so competition oriented... its very sad to see. You can call it a performance, but its obvious that the ancient and legendary Shaolin Temple has been reduced to nothing more than another martial art society. When you compete, you lower the reputation of Shaolin to be just like any other Wushu competitor or martial artist. But it is so much more! Or at least it was. I for one find these competitions disgusting. Just a ploy to bring in money, and nothing else. The older generations maintained that Shaolin was "only for the practice of enlightenment." What happened? Shame onto all of you.

Kung Fu Is the practice. practice is Kung fu. nothing is so bad as the mind that makes it so.

Hey, propably, you, just like most of us, discovered the art od shaolin kung fu with hollywood movies or national geographic documentaries, don't you find this disgusting too? If it wasn't for all of this, propably no one would know shaolin now.

I’m glad to get able see this. For someone like me that is a forms guy, I’m happy that stuff like this is allowed to be seen. What’s the alternative, letting it die out and no one ever knowing about its existence? Times change, and adaptation is part of life.

It's actually more of a "show us what you got and I'll show you what we got" gathering. Buddhism really isn't into competition because that's considered a worldly thing and attachment to worldly things is a cause of suffering. The shit that's used in national competitions looks more like rhythmic gym with a sword/spear/staff than actual martial arts. Besides, sitting cross legged for hours at a time isn't the only (nor the best) way of meditation. Don't know if you've tried it, but immense concentration in doing something physical is pretty damn similar to sit down meditation, except that I wouldn't fall asleep.

@@blockmasterscott indeed. Forms say a lot about the martial art in question.
