That's because Bob Costas was a seasoned writer who delivered his voiceovers (as well as his game calls) with an intense and genuine passion for drama and appreciation for the players. A guy like Mike Breen is great but he doesn't have the writing background.

Oh no..oh no we don't talk to Mike that way. We congratulate him when he has 20 points, and then see if he's thirsty. Get him a refreshing beverage, and ask Mr Jordan if he needs to sit down because he's had a great game.

And this is why the Scottie pippen argument annoys me. If scottie is who he says he is and who lebron fans says he is, an 80% Michael Jordan should of been enough for HIM to say "i got you Mike" and take over and be the man and carry them over the hump.

Everybody loses, but using defeat as fuel to come back and 3-peat, that's what greatness is. Something Lebron hasn't learned to do.

They called MJ the Black Cat because he was cat quick. I see young fans all the time that don't realize how fast Jordan was. His first step was elite. That's why his lay up package and dunk package got so good was because he could get around anyone and get to the rim at will. Kobe wanted to be MJ so bad that's where he got his name Black Mamba, because MJ was known as the Black Cat and Black Jesus.
