I mean Kobe retired at 37 and Shaq was 39. Yes Shaq was woefull in his last year but Kobe was arguably worse that last year I mean there's his last game. But other than that he averaged 15 PPG on woefull shooting like 37% from the field. He was so hurt later in his career I believe there is a happy medium I feel he over trained and Shaq under trained.

Was probably the best shape he was ever in (cardio wise) not including his Orlando years obviously. Just wasn't fast enough for their often fast breaks. (Was also the last time we saw a great Shaq) I don't count Cleveland even though he made the all-star mainly because it was due to his name. (Like Wade/Kobe end of their careers)

And you know who agrees with me on that? Shaq himself! So Shaq is probably the fifth best center in the history of basketball. This means he isn't even in the top 10 for best player. Not even sure about top 15.

Being a Celtics fan, I was initially happy with how Shaq was doing but the injury issues were quite frustrating. Didn't help that the time decided to trade Kendrick Perkins midseason and instantly lost size, seemingly putting more weight on old Shaq's shoulders that he couldn't handle

Ehh as a die hard Lakers fan I just try to wipe Shaq being on the Celtics completely from my memory. I wouldn’t say he was terrible, but Shaq was a shell of himself they signed him mainly due to compete against our size with Bynum and Gasol. As it turned out neither Boston or LA were good enough to get back to the Finals that year.

If you knew the story behind Shaq making his shoes so affordable you wouldn’t say that Remember this, there are designer brands that sell shoes/clothes that only cost them $20 to make but they sell it back for hundreds/thousands of dollars and there are brands that’ll take a shoe that cost $20 to make and only sell it back for $30-$40. @@Iean1n Hakeem statistically won 2 of the hardest championships in NBA History without a single all star on any of those rosters, He was Nearly as good of a volume scorer as Shaq, a better post player, better shooter, better passer, and eons above Shaq when it came to defense and free throw shooting, Hakeem won DPOY. Shaq only won 2 more rings, 1 of which came when he was a mere role player averaging 12.1 ppg against the Mavs down 2-0 while Dwayne Wade single handedly carried them to the championship. It’s close it most aspects but I see Hakeem as being the far superior player while a slightly worse career overall.
