I'm a Jokic fan and a Serbian, and I didn't see it that way. Shaq just ended telling us about his opinion in the program, and they had Jokic join in live, and I think Shaq just felt the pressure of coming off as being disingenuous if he didn't "come clean". And as you can tell by Jokic's reaction, he took it in gest, because culturally, we're a lot more direct and I can guarantee you that Jokic appreciated it way more than what anyone else said to him on that show.

Most dominant center of all times goes to either Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain or Kareem. Honorable mentions go to Wes Unseld, Nate Thurmond, Willis Reed, a healthy Bill Walton, etc. Shaq is great but in the earlier years of the NBA grown men predominantly made up the NBA. There was a guy named Reggie Harding back in 1962-63 who skipped college. Afterwards there was Moses Malone in 1974, Darrell Dawkins and Bill Willoughby in 1975, all three of whom were teenagers straight out of high school drafted into the league. None made an immediate impact on the NBA. Other than that, players were playing against full grown men back in the day. There is no way in hell that Shaq would have been dunking on the likes of the centers that I mentioned above as he was able to do on his contemporaries. Even Michael Jordan, upon entering the NBA, had to wait his turn (for many to retire or age) before he was able to come to the forefront. Thus, not even Michael Jordan can be called the greatest of all times because he had to wait to rise to the top. During Michael Jordan's tenure (although it was his latter years) he was no longer the greatest at the time. Labeling a player the G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Times) is oxymoronic. One can only be the greatest of his time since he has not played against and dominated the greatest of other times while in their prime. If one has not competed against the best of all times, then how can one be the greatest of all times. Basketball, like football, is a team sport and a lot of things outside of an individual's pure talent will affect the player's performance and statistics. Thus, labeling one person who participates in a team sport as the GOAT is a lie and a fraud and should be stopped immediately. Regarding titles and MVPs, that should only be judged by the competing players, not coaches or fans. Only the competing players know who they dread playing against. The players are the only ones who can legitimately vote who is the greatest among them. Contemporary NBA players could not have made it playing against the earlier NBA players, especially if the earlier players had access to the same nutrition and training equipment as do the current players. Teenagers, one and done, high school directly to college, as it is today, would not be possible back then - the physicality of grown men would have overwhelmed the talent of these youngsters - they would be worn down more so than they presently are worn down during a single season. Bottomline: Shaq is not in the top 5 or 10 of all time. He may be the top of his time but not of all times.
