This video is NOT a highlight video. Showing the final moments of the career of an NBA legend like Shaquille O'Neal is the only purpose of this video. And if you have watched enough sports, you should understand that bad games happen to every great players, especially when they're approaching their 40's.

I don't understand why coaches ever let him get that size. I would have had his fat ass in the gym every day working out. They should put stuff like that in contracts too. Get fat and don't get paid but the minimum.

Has nothing to do with the Celtics, just has to do with the fact that he was old, out of shape and knew he couldn't play at the level he used to. He probably felt unwanted, or like he shouldn't have been out there tbh.. Which is pretty sad, but you can just tell by the look on his face.

To all the people taking this clip out of context, Shaq was so hurt he couldn't walk due to his achilles and calf being badly injured. He had to be shot up with pain killers to even play. If you look up highlights when he wasn't hurt on Boston he was very good. Celtics were like 23-2 when he started and he was shooting almost 70% from the field. This clip is badly out of context and its amazing he even tried to play being that hurt.

I watched this series and this game because I am Celtics fans since Bird days. He left because as he was running back from the defensive end of the court and tore his Achilles tendon without any kind of contact. He didn't trip or anything. He was just simply jogging back from Miami's court to Boston's side. I'm surprised actually that they didn't even show it on the video... I'm surprised no one knew this. I guess no one watched this series. I'm fuzzy on how this series ended. I know Miami won but I can't remember if they closed them out in Miami or if this was that series when Rondo went ape in Miami and scored a crazy amount to bring them back to Boston where James played absolutely possessed and dropped 40 something points. I have never seen LBJ play with that look in his eyes. Just looked like a deranged angry killer. Boston was afraid to even touch him...

Shaq spent like 4 min on the court only and this video includes all the plays that involved him. The whole point of this video is to show how a great legend like him performed in his final game truthfully. This is not a highlight exciting to watch, I know. But being true to history is the only thing I care. Every player would not be as good when they enter the later stage of their career. If you can't handle the truth, just not to watch it or look for some Magic/Lakers Shaq video.

EyeLoveTheStars You realize that three out of the five teams he played for traded him right? He wasn't "chasing" anything. He had no say in those decisions. All he could do was suit up, and continue playing.
@EyeLoveTheStars
@EyeLoveTheStars 8 жыл бұрын
It's called RETIRING. You realize he could have just retired after his stint with the Heat, right? Or at least after it was obvious during his time with the Suns that he couldn't play at a high level anymore. Just saying, at best this guy should have played for three teams. The Lakers, the Heat, and the Suns. That's it. But no, he just had to go to the Cavs and the Celtics, too LOL ring-chaser. Should have retired after he won a title with the Heat. Could have gone out on top.
@EyeLoveTheStars

Besides, if I was a Laker, I would have refused to play for the Celtics. I would have retired if I was in Shaq's position. By that time, he had nothing to prove.

Shaq is a legend but his time on the Celtics is really one of those ".... why?" situations. I don't blame him for having injuries and collecting some big pay for playing a season for Boston, but it isn't the most flattering to see him standing around aimlessly, out of shape, and not doing any dominant play whatsoever.

If I were Shaq I’d not have played at this stage in his career. He got the money, he got the rings, he was already an all time great. Why humiliating yourself? We all remember legends like Larry Bird still putting up huge numbers in his final season before finally walked away from the game. A legend should know when to walk away gracefully.
